Hi Nora, Just a small correction : ''Grandes Ecoles" in France are not private institutions, for the majority they are public. They are more selective in a sense that you have to pass a competitive exam to be admitted.

the most difficult thing for people at la sorbonne is to get a degree from the best program. for entering into licence, it is very contingent on many factors, easier for some lucky guys, harder for some others. if you get a place, you are lucky. for entering into master programs, it is very selective

(Nantes or Paris, for international student) 1) If someone is an EU citizen but takes the national Baccalaureate in their (EU) country (which I heard isn't the same as the European Bac, since that's only done in "European Schools" and the student went to a national school. Even the number of exams taken is different.. but maybe I'm mistaken?), is that national bac still valid in France if they also have DALF? If not, is there a way to get it recognized or to take an equivalency exam or to take the European/French Bac without having to repeat the courses? And does the person still use Parcoursup and pay the same fees as other EU citizens? 2) If the application deadline is 6 months before the Bac exam, but the admission requires a certain grade on the Bac, can the student still apply and send the Bac scores later?

@sarahdlt9661
@sarahdlt9661 2 жыл бұрын
Hi ! I'm not Nora but I am studying at Sorbonne University too. Concerning the teaching method, it depends of the professors and the classes you chose. For instance, some of my professors use a PowerPoint, others don't and will just write the important words on the board (chalk boards or white boards, it depends of the classroom and of your campus) ; some have obliged readings for their class, other classes won't force you to read anything more than your lessons. For if it is hard or not : I guess it depends of your classes (again). I am studying literature there and some classes are easier to understand than others (from my friends who are on foreigners' viewpoint). But, to reassure you, there is what we call the "tutorat" : it is like support courses proposed by advanced students, in small groups (sometimes, you can even be alone), in order to come back on something that wasn't understood. It is a huge help (even I, as a french student, go to some of them when things get too complicated). I hope it helps a bit :)

I study there and there are no “rules” for that. I think if you are a good + student, it’s fine :)

@@ClaraBeauj I have a question for you; is it okay if I enter with my high school report card or should I do any embassy exams?

hi nora ! in the part of the video where you talk about the process of application you said it was easier for you as an european. could you please explain what qualifies as european? is it just being a resident or do you have to have european citizenship as well? i'm an immigrant and have been waiting for my citizen process to end for five damn years now, and i'm really afraid i won't be on time to enter sorbonne as a european. thanks!

When she says "European," she means citizen of the European Union, or a few closely linked countries. Definitely not British!

Hi! Unfortunately in France public education is offered in French so yes, you need to have a DELF certificate to be able to apply
