Just remember, when it comes to not hitting something, an inch is as good as a mile. I drove gasoline tankers over 40 years in Los Angeles and San Diego and it seems like everyday was just missing things by inches😎

Got my class A at 20 years old 13 years ago while going for my bachelors. Took me 5.5 years to get my degree as well. Now, having a degree is nice and all, but there’s so much money in trucking. I don’t even use my degree nor will I ever. I’ve been making 6 figures for 7 years now and about to buy my own truck. My advice, keep trucking !!!

It‘s so incredibly nice to see someone so relatable on KZbin! I‘m also a part time truck driver and I study music at university. Sometimes it felt like I was the only one in the world living the two lives of arts and trucking at the same time… so I felt kind of odd. So good to see there‘s people like you doing the same thing! Wish you and Andy all the best for the future, always keep enjoying the freedom of the road! 🚛💨

Ur channel randomly popped up on my feed 2 weeks ago, after the first video I watched I subscribed right away. Reason being is because I think female cdl truck drivers are badass! I work for a local beer distributor here in orange county and our backing skills are on point, having to back into crazy spots like bars,restaurants, liquor stores, grocery ect. Much respect to all the female truckers out there.

Just found your channel. Very cool. I'm a college graduate in trucking not using my bachelors degree. I started running teams for a FedEx Ground contractor running teams. Did that for 2 years then switched to a union LTL company. I couldn't believe how much money was left on the table from not being paid properly. My backing skills with a 53' are horrible since I mainly pull double and triple 28' trailers. Keep up the good work.

Hay you are a pro . I'm impressed to see how smoothly and accurately you back-up your trailer in a tight spot. Your story is amazing & interesting too. I completed my AZ professional training in 2011 from Humber college Toronto. And got a job invitation from Schneider Trucking. But I don't wanna be a long haul trucker. Rather I prefer to be a Shunt truck driver. I enjoy driving trailers in & out of docks.

I started CDL driving in February last year. Instead of trucks though, I started driving school buses where I was able to get my class B. Then I continue to drive school buses, then shuttle buses, and now I drive for Greyhound. Definitely not what I had in mind when getting into commercial driving, but it ain’t too bad. It’s nice to hear how others got into the industry and what drives them to stick around. Keep it up, and stay safe.
@rohenry9962
@rohenry9962 11 ай бұрын
Interesting I was planing to get my B first and then get my A later. But I was thinking it’s probably best to just get the A as this opens up more opportunities. I’m trying to either drive school buses or tour buses in my area. But I’m open to driving bigger vehicles. Did you ever consider getting your A? Or are you content with your B?
@poorlittlebiker6476
@poorlittlebiker6476 11 ай бұрын
@@rohenry9962 Oh for sure I think about getting my Class A, all the endorsements, and removing the restrictions for the same reason you mentioned- more opportunities. If money isn’t an issue, or you don’t mind a contract to be trained by a company, just go for the A and get it over and done with. Me personally, I didn’t have the money for truck school (and I don’t do loans, especially for something that I might’ve not liked later on), nor did I want to be anchored by a contract, so class B was the route for me. That said, as of right now, I’m pretty content where I’m at. Bus driving is pretty laid back even doing line runs, and I definitely see a market for bus driving opportunities if I ever want to hop in a bus of my own. I’m just riding the wave right now and see where it takes me, but still plan on upgrading my license in the future!

Hey do not get nervous on u turns as long as it is not on the streets or highways with traffic lights i still drive i own a old school truck a 1989 Kenworth K100 cabover so i do not get into california any more i remember when i first drove my grandfather said get in and drive and do not grind it lol he did teach me as we hauled alfalfa and livestock from my grandfather's farm in illinois to my uncles ranch in Georgia you wanna talk about nerve-racking my gramps was a stickler for that truck he made me drive at night when the scale houses are closed and back country highways when my gramps died in 1995 i stopped driving until 2009 when i got legal backing i knew but all that time away from that truck which i now own since my uncle had the truck sitting but still running my dad told him that i had gotten my cdl and was legal i had just finished working for werner on 2011 and had minor problems both shifting but the more werner let me practice on their driving range in most of their yards the better i became and now i drive flatbeds from vegas to utah az and sometimes newmexico just not as much since i do full time work in vegas but driving that kw with my caterpillar 3406B 13 speed is now just fun for me since my full time is dump trucking with that cabover on belly dumps but good luck with your trucking endeavors be safe sister driver
