Completed AFF a few days ago (my 10th jump) and just got recommended this video. I really enjoyed it man. Especially at the end, you talking about the community aspects and dapping people up in the plane. Im almost 22 and this sport has changed my life. Thanks for sharing your story! @@olamide3992 I Just got my A license about a week ago. It costed me about $4100. Plus $900 for my helmet and altimeter which are "optional". The early student levels are more expensive which I had to repeat some which led to it being slightly more expensive. This includes some time in a wind tunnel - 20 minutes was about $370 (optional). I would say your A license (25 Jumps) costs about $3000 - $4500 depending on how fast you excel in the skill of freefalling.

My first jump, tandem of course, this last weekend for my birthday. I thought I was going to have a full on panic attack the drive to the air field but once we were in the plane, learning banana, and my instructor just reminding me to look at how beautiful it was; the actual jump was nirvana and the most fun I think I might have ever had in 5 minutes. Definitely going a second time, tandem again just to really be able to soak it all in. First jump is just overwhelming as hell but very rewarding. Good on ya man!

I appreciate you sharing that scared feeling from a bad pull etc. I had that at jump 17 (hard opening) then 18 where I pulled unstable and almost had the bridal wrapped around my leg. I’ve jumped since , and completed a solo and a dive and dock… but the fear definitely got to me. I went to the DZ one day and didn’t jump.. I’m jump 21 now and hopefully can complete within the next month :) passed my test yesterday , but didn’t jump due to wind conditions. Safety over all!!

Peter I thoroughly enjoyed your journey to accomplishing your dream. My parents had to sign a waiver for me to make my first jump when I was 16 way back in the early seventies! Dating myself😁 Fast forward I’ve not jumped in many years. I will be retiring in a year from a very busy travel related industry. That skydiving bug has been calling my name for the last two years. I can’t even go on my KZbin home page without skydiving video’s popping up. That’s how I found your channel. Once I retire I will be able to take back the joy of living the rest of my life to fullest. That includes getting back in the sky under a canopy as well as getting back current as a fixed wing private pilot. Thank for sharing your experiences and your words of encouragement👍🏽👊🏽🪂

@Peter.Junior_
@Peter.Junior_ 8 ай бұрын
It took me a full year to get this done because life is definitely a factor haha. As for your question, some drop zones do 2 instructors but I didn’t learn that until I finished 😂. Typically it’s based on the amount of instructors that a drop zone has. If they have few then they can only do 1 at a time so that they can get more students through the program

Hey great video man, did my first tandem last weekend, and signed right up for the whole A license package at a DZ down here in Florida. One question, did the instructors/coaches video each jump and review that with you?
@Peter.Junior_
@Peter.Junior_ Жыл бұрын
Heck yeah, hope you're journey is going well. They did video every single jump and went over most of them. There were some days where the drop zone was really busy and they needed to get back on a plane but always made sure to at least tell me their thoughts after landing even if we did not have the time to review the video in detail.

I had my first tandem jump 3 days ago, just in time before my 26th birthday yesterday, as I planned it to be.... and uhm,, I still don't know what words to choose to express how i felt. It was the best experience of my life, but I was also very nervous and anxious and afraid that I would back out at the last minute, and just a whole lot of mental massacre, which after the jump I realised it was completely unnecessary. Even now, when I think about the precise moment of maximum fear before jumping and the first 5 seconds after leaving the plane, I can't help it but laugh at myself. It was like my soul left my body for a split second and came back xD Even wanted to jump a second time that day. But maybe next year, I will go again, tandem of course, to at least, fully internalize the experience xD For anyone that is reading comments and thinking about trying it out, PLEASE GO. You will have a whole other perspective of the sport and how to feel when you see you can push past your own limits. What a day ...

@@Peter.Junior_ oh I’m sure I would once I actually get into it more. I just mean that first jump you do for the AFF course. Like the falling with instructors holding on to you isn’t scary, it’s more maneuvering the canopy down to the ground safely on your own.
@Peter.Junior_
@Peter.Junior_ 5 ай бұрын
@@chrismealler they’ll go over landing patterns pretty thoroughly before your first jump. That’s one of those things tho that you just have to learn while doing. Forsure. Take it one jump at a time, have fun with it (take a break if you need to) and one thing I do is have a little routine before heading to the drop zone.
