- focus on 2-3 teachers - work hard on big assignments (ungraded assignments to show you have initiative/big projects or presentations) - nod during class to show you’re paying attention - ask clarifying questions and project related questions (not bs or annoying questions) - talk to your teachers 1-on-1 every few weeks so they get to know you extras: - if the teacher is in the same club as you, show your leadership skills there - if the teacher has taught you before, even better - volunteer to pass out papers/answer questions/generally help in class (say yes before you think) - if you did something (nonprofit etc) that’s in the local news and your teachers sees the news, they will be proud of you. use the opportunity to thank them for how they’ve helped you achieve that

Hey Pratik, you've truly helped me see the college admissions process in a new light and I want to thank you for that. I rarely write comments like this, but this time I felt I needed to. I started following your channel when you had around 2k subscribers and it's amazing to see how quickly it's grown, it seems like you jumped from 2k to almost 10k in just a few weeks! I've been looking through your videos to find one where you talk about your own college application essays and stats. If you haven't posted a video like that yet, could you please consider doing it in the future? Anyways, keep going! If you keep making videos like this, I absolutely see you being the top guy for all things college admissions on KZbin for a long while.

Hey that story about me grinding from a C to an A happened to me! (4 times) in all 4 quarters of Honors PreCalculus I would usually bomb the first tests/quizzes but then I’d put in the work, retake, study, and barely hit that A mark. Also this didn’t affect me next year because in AP Calc BC I got A’s without trying almost.

hey bro, I dropped out of school last year because now my country is under the army's control and we are having a civil war. Now I am preparing for GED plus SAT. I learn from KZbin, websites, and books. Therefore, I am having difficulties getting letters of recommendation. It is even harder that I need multiple recommendations to apply to multiple colleges in the USA. So, if you were in my place, I wonder what would be your solution, sir.

hey i really appreciate the genuine advice that you provide, but how would you recommend I build a connection with my counselor? At my current highschool, I email her questions about courses and other matters like that, but how would I take that extra step to get to know her personally enough in order to get a solid rec letter from her? otherwise great stuff

any advice for what i should do if many teachers at my school leave ? i’m a junior right now, and last year i had 5 different math teachers. most of my teachers from last year left, in fact. i plan on applying as a neuroscience major to all my schools so i was gonna get a rec letter from my ap bio teacher, but she got a better job and is leaving next semester. i’m considering contacting a teacher from freshman year, i have no clue what to do anymore 💀
