How I got robbed and attacked in Berlin

OMG! I had the same experience in Tiergarden in 2011. It was 2-3 guys in black hoodie. They looked big and had piercing on their faces. You are very brave to share this! The bad guys attacked my friend and I, and then got our money, phone and backpack. The police didn't catch the bad guys though. I can't believe this is still happening 13 years later. Glad you are okay! I totally understand the feeling afterwards. The same thing repeated over and over in my head. I finally got over it in about a year or so. My husband and I are traveling to Europe this summer. I think we will skipp Berlin.

It's always unfortunate to hear that these things happen, but I'm glad that you guys seem to have recovered well from what happened. I do understand your sentiment of not wanting to go back there again, but I would say that it is still worth it. Since next to a few peculiar folks, there are also plentiful friendly, generous and welcoming people - in addition to a number of very beautiful places and spaces. So I think as long as we let our hearts decide and make our decisions based on trust instead of fear (and are aware of our surroundings ^^), I'm sure wherever we go will be fine and a beautiful experience. ❤️
