Lot of people on u- tube telling people how to shoot there bow, some of it,s helpful. It,s good to here a good ole boy from down south with some down to earth instructions on shooting the longbow that is one, easy to understand, two info that you have personally gathered over a lot of years of hunting an shooting the longbow. I call it down home cooking. Good stuff Mr Carter. God bless.

I'll bet them nats are getting right down there now, ain't they Robert? My family comes from over there West of you in Turner county. I also grip a longbow heal down. With no gripping pressure with the top two fingers, and light pressure with the bottom two fingers. I keep my bow shoulder low, set back in the socket on the draw with a bend in my elbow down at about 7:00 with a Broken wrist. Also shoot with a closed stance, bow shoulder 90° to the Target, front leg a bit forward of my rear leg. Anchor on my jaw a little back from the corner of my mouth. Head tilted forward with the bow string touching my eyebrow. All of this is done in one fluid motion, no holding at full draw. This is the Howard Hill style of shooting a longbow, and is the way he taught John Schulz how to shoot. I believe it is the most conducive style for bow hunting. That sure is a nice Nate Steen longbow, Robert. I know they are hard to come by, they're almost unobtainium. Lol

In South Dakota, I know his pain as we have Mosquitos really bad, some type where West Nile is easy to be carried though in the evening and night they are really bad.

I do the same for any universal notched grip for my longbows an old Actionbow 8200 by Actionrod model all but whole logo is covered in light miliary green paint as model never came pained/dyed so was ugly gray green basic fiberglass dries in and my Great Plains Traditional Archery Company 45 pound Youth longbow in hickory. I also with any wood handle/grip recurves I do as close as possible to a full grip.

I do same/very similar full grip where thumb is coming back around to fingers with my 2 longbows where they are using a universal notched grip and I get as close as I can on hunting recurves with wooden grip/full grip not using a target grip including hybrid hunting target bows where bow is needing a finger sling or wrist sling. I am doing an even pressure on all fingers in my full grip except on some my pinky as I have always done like this on bows using a universal notched grip including recurves like some all fiberglass, even most grips on classic wood riser and wood handle bows .
