Ive had one for 7 grow seasons now. It sure is a happy little flowering cactus, multiple blooms at once. It has a very silky, lemon like scent with its big flowers, and local bees LOVE it and gather pollen everytime it blooms. I love that!!! I always imagine all the other bees back at the hive are like "Whoa!!! Whered you find _your_ pollen at?!"

My very first cactus was a E. subdenudata 😁 it grew quite tall and unfortunatly fell over 2 years ago and then rotted. Luckily i could resque the only little offset it ever produced. It bloomed last year and today i counted 5 buds! 😍 It's good you gave this common but non the less 'top' cactus the credit it deserves👍🏻

Hey Lyn, thanks for this very interesting & informative video! Got a few E subdenudata, too. Bought one at Ikea a few yrs ago 😅 It started producing offsets last year (2), this year a lot more (7), and first started blooming July this yr. Growing them on the balcony (full sun, south facing) from March-April until Oct.-Nov. depending on how fast the winter comes. I'm in 🇨🇭 so yeah... Then back inside, as temps can drop to -15/20°C. Quick question: Is it actually possible to pollinate an E sub* pup with its 'mum' (as they'd share kind of the same DNA)? I did just that (although I'm not 100% sure it's a pup, they were already growing next to each other when I bought them, so maybe just 2 separate plants), and the fruit's been growing well so far (no abortion). What's your take on that? ❔ I'm growing Haworthia/H-opsis, too. It's almost time to bring them back inside, so if you have any (& time to shoot) I'd love to hear from yours! ;-) Cheers! -Thomas
