Thanks for putting this video together and showing people what it can take to get on the water. Sometimes Kayak fishing can be a lot of work but once your on the water enjoying the day and catch fish you’re already planning your next trip.

Love your content JC. That's quite the transport system on the car. Great demonstration on the tensioning knot. Gotta admit though, seeing that makes me appreciate how well my 10 ft yaks fit in the 8ft bed of my truck. 🤔

I do it almost the same way on my Rav4, they make racks for them but I'm too cheap and I love my DIY better anyhow.

Yo JC, dude, your ingenuity is out standing and purpose driven. However, i am of the opinion that if you attach some 2in PVC tubing about 4ft in length straight up from your bumper with the width apart the same as your kayaks beam, that way when your coming in hot with your Toyota in the water. you will be able to position your kayak perfectly on the first docking,,, Love your work

Nice info JC. It's amazing what you can get on the roof of a car, especially if you have roof rails & bars. Took 2 5ft x 7ft windows UK to France on mine! Stay safe & well!

I have an Old Town Predator PDL and I think it weighs about 120 lbs. Fortunately I have a pick up and I use a T-Bone bed extender that attaches to my receiver hitch. You came up with a pretty good system loading that heavy kayak on top of your car. Nice job and great video! 👍

Have you thought about putting a tow hitch...and then using a T bar ? Once it's tied to the T bar it's pretty much set.. you won't need all that rope and only need that one set of foams. It'll be centered and secured forward and back..
@RadReelingFishing2 жыл бұрын
Great idea, yes i have consider that, but my plan is to get a truck so I didn't want to spend the money to add a hitch etc...

Is the wilderness systems kayak cart wider than the Ctug. Video idea-if you still have your C-tug could you do a side by side comparison. I have strongly thinking about making the switch over to the wilderness cart with my predator PDL. The wilderness cart looks like it can handle rough terrain better. The one thing that keeps me from quickly making the switch is I like how the Ctug breaks down and stores.
@RadReelingFishing2 жыл бұрын
The Wilderness System cart is adjustable in width and has two height adjustments. You are right, the C-tug is nice to beak down. I have the Predator Pdl too. I don't think the Wilderness System cart would break down small enough to fit in the front hatch area like the C-tug does on the Predator.

Just put a hitch on the car and buy a trailer. Alot cheaper than buying a truck, and much easier then loading it in the bed of a truck.
@RadReelingFishing2 жыл бұрын
Great idea, but I'd have to find a place to store the trailer. I live in an apartment complex that doesn't have additional storage area.
@geraldlair28882 жыл бұрын
@@RadReelingFishing Sucks about not having a place to store the trailer. Where do you store the Yak living in a apartment? I'm in the opposite situation as you. I have a truck and a Jet Ski trailer, but no Yak. Waiting on a AP 120. Hopefully a couple more months.

Why the hell dont you just buy a truck and be done with all this BS?
@RadReelingFishing2 жыл бұрын
The main reason is because I haven't had a car payment in over 25 years. I always pay for my vehicles in full. I am currently 100% debt free ( I owe no one) and intend on keeping my life that way. So, with that being said, I'm socking away money to purchase a truck. Thanks for watching and always being so straightforward with your comments.
