Wow, last night I was anxious and I started to write in my journal (I’ve been journaling for the past 9 years). I decided to flip through my old journals and boy I was a hot mess. Lol I never thought of highlighting the good parts so maybe I’ll do that today. thank you for this video 💛

My journal entry today: (paused the video half way to do this then came back - hope it is helps spread nice energy) "I had a lovely moment of profound thankfulness yesterday during yoga/meditation; I was so thankful at my own groundedness and steadiness - when faced with a mindset that usually knocks me down completely I was able to scale back to my most essential + circumvented the badness + in the moment of thankful clarity I honoured all the things that conspired in the universe to make me such a way. I'm watching a video right now where Rowena Tsai goes through her old journals - they are so like mine. So dramatic + existential + angsty. So I don't feel bad for now keeping a journal that is sappy + self aggrandising - I remember where I came from. I am proud of what I'm doing, where I'm going and how far I've come."

this is making me want to start journaling again. i did when i was in middle school but it was mostly “dear diary” stuff. seeing this kind of fluidity in your writing makes me want to journal again without the constraints of forcing myself to do it. idk if this makes any sense but it makes sense to me, thanks rowena lol

This was epically long but deeply profound. Content like this ensures me I'm not alone in this duality way of thinking, black or white, all or nothing mentality. 5:57 golden wisdom right there! I really honed into that thought this year when I intensely started working through my anxiety. I thought the realization would create a path of ease but it's been a lot of bumping into walls as I spring into action versus journaling myself into analysis paralysis. When I marry my efforts/actions with humbleness and stay present with each step I take I find the 'mistakes' to be golden nuggets of reinforcement to a bigger picture. Love your vids, thanks so much for sharing!! XO

I don’t usually write comments but my minds been a mess lately. I left a job I thought I didn’t like (bad environment but good people), now I’m in a sales recruitment job which I don’t think I like (few weeks in, doesn’t sit well with me). When you got about half way in the video saying about self care, time and trips at 22 I think that’s what I need. But I’m scared. I’m 24 and feel such pressure to have a stable income, job and to be moving out with my bf next year. I’ve looked at international tours and trips that I could do.. it’s just about taking the plunge, both with the uncertainty of being unemployed for the first time and with money 😣 I have no idea what to do..

That’s such a big step in itself to take on a Masters course AND work, I applaud you for that big time 👏🏻 what is it you are studying? I’ve done a lot of thinking over the past few days and today actually ended up being my last day within that job 😅 the people were nice enough about it but in the end I feel like it’s going to only be a good thing for me. I feel like I’m free falling at this time but I’m sure I’ll land on my feet someday. I’ve been looking to go to Japan (my biggest dream since forever) some time within the next few months (Dec/Feb) Just myself with a tour group for about 11+ days. It depends on money, time, what is happening the now, etc but I’m determined I’ll achieve it sooner than later 😁 I think life has a funny way of working itself out and I’m positive that you will get there one day sooner than later too 😊

Thank you so much for being so open and vulnerable! This is super authentic and I connect to the whole long emotional turmoil so much! I'm going through some rough things right now, (like just recently failed uni) bc I neglected my own needs and let the toxicity of my family get to me. I just didn't prioritise what is most important, myself, which is hard to do as well when you have your mum and the whole family depending on you as the eldest. Anyway, writing and journalling has been a great tool for healing or just processing things for me.

I am so glad to have found your channel. I find so often that "self-care" channels don't show how you can transform from such a dark place to a brighter one. Although I really wanted to be better, looking at those channels would make me be like, this stuff doesn't change anything. But you show that we can evolve our mind and still be happy when we are in a dark place. I have been in such a better place since finding your channel. Even as I go through a negative anniversary. Thank you for your impact!

I just found your channel and already feel so incredibly connected to you. Pieces of your life story line up with mine so closely. I too had an older brother who died in a car accident back in 2004 that changed my life forever, though it seems it took me much longer to actually deal with my feelings. I started partying as a teen and hit rock bottom around 2013. I also only journal when my life life is in shambles! You have such a beautiful way of sharing your inner experience, which I think most people feel very alone in that inner journey. You just have a great way of normalizing and putting into words the journey that I believe all of us experience inside!

I just found your videos in the morning, searching for something to wake myself up and have a positive start of the day and I am overwhelmed. I love the positivity and honesty you put in your videos and it is really unfortunate I need to go to work, because I need to watch them all now! I can feel you made me start rethinking my life - that sounds big, but it is just small realization that I don't have to live like I do and I am excited for the path that lays ahead. And I never comment on anything but I really wanted to thank you for making my morning better.

I love your channel so much! As a person who claims to always be “in pursuit of my greatest self”, I’ve found your content to be so helpful, inspiring, and on time(?). You seem to always upload a video I need to see even if it’s just for a simple quote therein. For this, and for sharing and giving me stools that have been such a big help on my journey, I am grateful! I presently relate a lot w/ younger Rowena who is constantly self-reflecting and analyzing. I think/write a lot about all I should change/do/be but I’m definitely not LIVING out those realizations as much as I would like to. My journals are FULL of me making revelations but not always committing to solutions. It’s been a lesson I’m (sadly) still learning the hard way. I kinda feel like this video is a cheat code lol. To see you analyze a hurdle I’m struggling w/ in retrospect is soo beneficial. It’s good knowing for certain that the problem isn’t a problem, my discipline is the problem. This is definitely the kick in the a** I need. Also, what you said about writing more would make you a less extreme person hit me right in the chest lol. I feel in extremes & almost exclusively write when I’m feeling stagnant or unhappy. Consistency may definitely help w/ that. Thanks again for sharing! You are so lovely 💛

Rowena, i appreciate you so much. I always se myself in you, a lot of the things you go through and wonder about, are things that happen to me. I'm really thankfull that you share all this with us, it makes me see the potential in me. If you want to talk more about letting go of what others think of you and how Buddhism helped you with this(if it did) i would really like that! Regardless, i adore you. Hope you are well!
