Thank you! i searched so many videos on how to wrap the contrast yarn ...and yours is the first to explain it well! Thank you!!!

Thank. you for clear instructions. I was doing this wrapping until 1 1/2 years ago when I began to learn spinning spindle and at the wheel, and then knitting went out the door. Now I am back, and I really needed that review. Yay!

This is the way I learnt to do colour work, and when I've tried to describe it to other knitters, they've be one hopelessly lost. Thank goodness you've done this video, because now I can send them here for clear, concise instructions that they can see.

God bless you, I was about to cry I couldn’t figure this technique out until I watched your video.

Gorgeous work, inside and out. I like the way you brought the white over to be able to use conveniently. Must watch that part again. Am practicing colour work and haven't yet reached your degree of it. I am a thrower and find continental hard.

Wow, thank you. This has made it so much easier for me. A much better way of mixing colours than the way I had been shown. At least now I don't get my two balls of wool tangled!!!! Brilliant. A great help. Thank you.

Would have like to see the main colour catch repeated, as its more complicated than catching the pattern colour in the left hand. Also, have you tried Norwegian method? I was thinking that your tendons must get a bit sore after a while?

I loved your video, and I was able to tune out the music because I'm a grown up. Also, thank you so much for taking a lot of time out of your day to make this video so that others can learn to knit as beautifully as you. I know it must be discouraging to expend so much time and effort trying to do something nice, only to be patronized by perfectly rude strangers, but please don't stop; I'm trying to learn two-handed flick/pick stranded and this really helped!!! ;-)

Your comment is intolerant and rude. If people have a difficulty hearing speech above loud music it certainly does not show that they are not grown up and it is an unkind thing to say.
@fefieh6 жыл бұрын
look who is the child here , there are lots of people who have English as 2nd language and then the loud music on top of that is terrible !
@EsmereldaPea Жыл бұрын
What an ignorant comment. You are not a grown up. You're a childish bully. Hard of hearing folks and neurodivergent folks have difficulty following instructions when there are distractions like music. It's not immaturity (which you have in spades).

Thank you for this helpful video! I have a stocking pattern that is stranded color work but knitted flat. Another issue I ran into (in addition to long floats), was a small hole or gap when changing colors. Do you think locking floats every few stitches would cure this? Also, my pattern frequently has more than two colors is a row. Do I lock all colors needed in that row each time? I don't believe there are ever more than 4. Thanks for any feedback!
@CoffeeCraft3 жыл бұрын
Interesting! If I was working on it I would probably change the pattern to be knit in the round since I'm guessing it's gonna be seamed at some point. Any colors that you aren't working that are being carried should be locked in but try to not lock multiple strands, it can get really bulky. For the gap I think locking should help since wrapping the yarns is normally how I would fix that

Really nice floats. It looks pretty on the wrong side too.

it is easier if you have the yarn in your right hand at the front of the index finger - less distance for the finger to move..

Very helpful! Thanks! But when I do a color change I end up getting a gap or hole and I have no idea why or how. Would I have to twist it so it will close that gap?

Having trouble with tension. Do you think if I caught the float every time it would make it better or worse? Also, would going up a needle size help? I love doing it but ...

I was really hoping this would be the ticket for me. In making a hat, I found it to give a lot of texture to the wool, to the point of being lumpy even after multiple blocking. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
@insomniacB4 жыл бұрын
it could be ur tension. might just be knitting too tightly
@VocalFox7 жыл бұрын
How do you get your patten to line up nicely in the round? Especially when you have a single round in a contrast color, like part of the zigzag you were doing. I'm a perfectionist and when patterns dont line up i feel like it looks really sloppy. Especially in something like a hat, theres no where to hide the misaligned beginning and end of each round,
@CoffeeCraft7 жыл бұрын
CCPanda there is a jog were my round changes over. It may just be hard to see here. You could try applying a jogless jog method to help smooth out the kinks. There r a few techniques floating around the internets talking about how to execute a jogless jog.

I have a problem of often locking the stitches in the same place as they were locked in the previous row which makes the color show through and looks bad. Do you have an easy way to avoid that?
@CoffeeCraft3 жыл бұрын
Normally what I do is just alternate the location of where I am locking stitches each row. You don't need to lock stitches at a specific interval so you can change it up

I was taught that if any colour "popped" in colourwork that it was an indication of poor tension. All stitches should be even and nothing should pop.
