Hi Ellie, coming over to you by way of Tina of Simply in stitches who said you might be interested in doing a tutorial on how to knit toe up socks. I am a crocheter and have only just started knitting as I really want homemade socks! I am on my first sock following Tina's video tutorial using a 9 inch circular needle and I can already see that knitting it toe first would be easier, if nothing else you wouldn't worry so much about having enough yarn to finish the sock! I really hope you will be willing to do a video for it, that would really be amazing! Take care.

Hi Corrine, Yes I am planning on recording a toe up sock tutorial soon. I have lots of different tutorials I have planned. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thank you x

Hi Ellie, thank you so much! The sock is my very first knitting project and I am used to DK yarn but not fingering on a 9 inch needle. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving it but it looks like I'm knitting for someone with a hobbit foot!! My ribbing feels too loose, or will that get better with blocking perhaps? We'll see!! My daughter wants jumpers and my son socks and I'm telling them:"Hang on a minute, Let me finish the one sock first!!" I'm sure I'll get there! I have watched a few of your podcasts since Tina mentioned you and I love the way you giggle a lot, you are lovely to watch and listen to! Looking forward to many more podcasts! Take care x

The first thing I saw when turning on my pc was a notification telling me you have two tutorials lol. I really like how you start your new square with the purl bumps. Then the back of your blanket won't have a ridge. I want to start mine over like yours lol. I like how your center decrease line lays flat. It looks neater that way. :) Have a good day! Sharon xx

You could always make it into a cushion cover if you don't fancy making a big blanket x

hi Ellie,this is lovely,very good tutorial X thanks I think you must have a lot patients,my first one seems to be taking ages,but then I'm not used to knitting on small needles or thinker wool 😵 I will persevere though x

Hi Jackie, I think it took me about 5 squares before I was really into knitting these squares. Keep persevering, I am in love with mine now I have enough fabric to cover my knee x

Hello Elle. I am following this stitch by stitch and have just started my 2nd square. For some reason my ridge is on the other side. Once you've picked up and cast on, do you knit 2 rows then start the centre decrease, like we did with the first square? Seems I will have to start again 😒
@crafthousemagic4 жыл бұрын
Yes that is right Mel, The ridge should be on the front. You can do it x

Hello Elle I have watched so many videos on this and love yours the most I got through the first 2 squares, is it possible for you to start a cast on for the 3rd square, just the cast on I'm not getting it please, I've been racking my poor brain for 4 days,do you mine helping me.
@crafthousemagic6 жыл бұрын
I will try and describe it here in more detail. On the third square you pick up 24 stitches from the square to the right, then one stitch from the corner between the two squares and then 24 stitches from the bottom left square. You should have all 49 stitches on one needle. You than work the square the same as the others x

@@crafthousemagic Hi Ellie, I too am stuck at adding a third square on my newly started blanket adventure. I got the first two squares no problem but for some reason can't wrap my head around the third one.😂 Could you show a short video showing the pick up stitches for the third square? I don't think I'm getting the orientation right so that all squares will have the same orientation. Maybe I'm having such a hard time because I'm left handed. Thank you in advance.

When starting the third square do I pick up half of the stitches with 1needle and half of the rest with another needle 😫I'm so confused😫😂
@crafthousemagic6 жыл бұрын
Hi Trish, You can do it! On all the squares that require you to pick up stitches you pick them up on the same needle. Then work back and forth across that needle x
