My Finnish friends are surprised at how much I can understand Finnish :D it's not that much still I'm proud of myself too, and I can definitely say I've learned most of it from this channel. 🥰🥰

Moi,you have a knack,a gift to learn languages.The actor Peter Ustinov spoke eight languages.There are some that draw with a pencil or a marker and its great.Some are great at wood work,some building things,creating etc.We all have a gift, but we have to find out what.If you don't have the gift or the knack for things,you got to work harder and longer to get there.Kiitos,heippa.

Sure, but I also believe that all skills can be improved - so one can become better at learning languages as well ;)

Ciao! I'm an Italian native speaker and I'm surprised that you managed to learn so much just from listening, I realize it's not the easiest language to form an 'ear' for hahaha. I wanted to ask you, what you did was watch the video many times, but did you also take notes during the video, or is it better to just try to remember things as you hear them? Thank you!

Ciao! I think Italian is not the most difficult for a Finn, because the pronunciation is quite similar (yes you heard me haha). But I must highlight that I didn't only listen, but read the subtitles while I was listening - so I got that visual+auditive input at the same time. On the note taking, it really depends on what works for you. I personally maybe wrote down a few important words that I kept forgetting, but I never read or studied those lists by heart, it was just to make that imprint stronger in my brain :)

Terve, Lotta! I just sign up to get the transcriptions of your new videos, but I wonder, how can I get the transcriptions of the old ones, the ones that are already published? Kiitos paljon! Y feliz navidad! :):)
@finnished2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cecilia! I currently don't have a system where you could find all the old transcriptions. But before sending them out by email, I used to post them under each video. If you have a specific one you would like to get, you can email me on hello@learnfinnished.com and I can see if I still have it! Feliz Navidad!!

Hey I'm just here to tell you not to give up. I felt like that in the beginning too, besides these videos I watched TV shows on Yle Areena and when I started I wouldn't understand most things even with subtitles on. At first I needed to focus so hard to try and understand that I would get headache but it's just that it takes time for your brain to get used to this new language. Now a year after I started doing this technique I'm watching shows on Yle Areena and I understand 90% of the thins they say even without subtitles. I would also say what has helped me is to watch people as they talk, look at their face as they pronounce things. Keep going you can do this.

I can only echo what Luka says: don't give up! I know it's tedious in the beginning and it takes some time, but if you persist, you will see the progress.
