My dad started dropping me there at 13 also, had a 16ft Aggressor Bass Champ. That was in the mid-late 90’s. It was such a fun lake to fish. I caught many large mouth over 5 and a few 7-8pounds. I don’t fish it as much now but it seems not as good now. We camped a many nights on 2 tree island. It still holds a special place in my heart. Some of my best fishing memories are there. I remember when there was so many run down fishing shacks, now they are torn down and mansions take their place. I pocketed a good bit of cash there on a Tuesday night. I’d love to put up 500$ or whatever you want and make a interesting day out of it.

I just want you to know that you will WIN TBC. You are one of if not the best bass fisherman on the planet and I'm not trying to blow you up but just take a look in the mirror and look what you've accomplished in 3 years ..I mean really I've watched you long before you were on your and that wasn't that long ago. So kudos to you and Hunter on your journey to the top because I'm telling you it's happening soon very soon and when you do I want a fishing trip here in ga on Lanier with you all expenses paid in full by me. Deal?just remember BigCheez one of your biggest fans and im 51. Good luck as I know this will happen

Nice video Kyle. These are the type of videos of yours I use to watch all the time before you took it to the next level. Congrats! Shout out to Hunter also. Let me know when you are heading to MY big local lake. The ditch bite is on right now. 😎

@@PHATBASSASSASSIN Search MoneyBass Carters lake on KZbin. I have a few videos on it. Similar to Lanier but fish are generally deeper, dropshot and spybait got bites. Try a jerkbait too. How did you do on Lanier? I'm finding schools hugging the bottom in 30 to 40ft.

Still remember watching you fish on KZbin before the elites Kyle. It’s amazing seeing that growth and transition you’ve had over the years. Truly inspiring for all anglers that have a similar if not the same goal. Wish you all the best for the 23’ season.

I love a jig, it seems to get bit when nothing will and a swim jig is great also so between those two and a frog the 3 are my confidence baits, and I just ordered 4 or 5 of your Ace jigs to try because I have been fishing a very similar head design jig that a guy pours for me so can’t wait to try them

The guys in Phoenix at the tackle store there, always do excellent iCast event episodes and coverage. I noticed they had a long form piece about the 'fishing line' in gear tackle angling. Looking at just what happened over around twenty or thirty years gone by. Some interesting viewpoints in it (and they are also western water anglers, where they are used to doing things slightly different as well). They learned certain techniques and methods of fishing earlier than other parts of the country. And invented a few new techniques along the way.

Nice session. Are you considering fishing any of the opens this season? Seems like a couple line up well for the elite series timing and are in your wheelhouse - like Eufaula. Best of luck to you this year. I know if you can really apply your skill set out there and a few variables go your way, you'll come out on top.

Thinking about the thing of treble hooks, and treble hook replacement.
@academicmailbox77982 жыл бұрын
For an angler such as Kyle Welcher in particular. Something I don't know if you've ever tried.
@academicmailbox77982 жыл бұрын
Bob Blankemeier a saltwater angler shows a macro lens shot of the Kastmaster half ounce silver spoon, with bucktail on the treble. And you can see in the slow motion how that works (where instead of the bucktail being dressed on the treble hook itself, instead it's on a separate attachment that goes into the split ring). Something like a Blane Chocklett articulated spine or similiar device is used to hold the bucktail on. It means for the bass anglers who likes to replace treble hooks. They can have the bucktail or other material separated from the actual hooks.

I remember West Point in the 90s and 25 to 30 lb bags were not uncommon. Back then it had a 16 in min and the largemouth were like Eufaula in the 70s and 80s big. I feel when they dropped the min to 12 and after Bassmaster fished it the lake went downhill fast. Not sure if west point is the lake you're on but it looks like it.
