Rob's a moron he spent five years in an optional area that's when I do a facepalm if you're not interested in the Chalice dungeons you don't have to go into old yharnam but I usually go into old yharnam because the enemies there give you a lot of blood Echoes for killing them. The choice is yours

This video is insanely good. It reminds me of the old Friday Features that made me a fan of this channel in the first place. When Rob discusses something he's passionate about, it's impossible not to go on that emotional journey with him. His writing here is top notch, and his *delivery* is absolutely perfect. I never got all that far into Bloodborne myself, and I doubt I'll ever finish it, because I just didn't find it that enjoyable, but it's absolutely wonderful that Rob was able to finally figure out the game and break through that mental barricade. This is gonna be one of those videos that I share with people when I try to get them interested in PS Access. It's excellent.

I put off playing this for so long because of my own 'Clive' and only started playing it in lockdown as I had more time on my hands to try out games I haven't had the courage to before. I now have the platinum and it is on the list as one of my greatest gaming achievements as I, much like you Rob tend to put the controller down when things get tough. Fantastic video as always.

I have never played Bloodborne (something I will now remedy) but I watched this video and found myself shedding tears. I then insisted that my wife watch it, despite having no interest in video games, as well as my teenage daughters. I'm on new game plus. My bloodborne journey only started after watching the first of these streams. I tried again 5 years after first playing(and giving up), and fought the moon presence 2 weeks ago. And you have in your expert way summarised why I absolutely love this genre. That feeling of overcoming your doubt, of overcoming your self and not giving up, pushing through to that victory. That's why soulsborne games just click with me. Yes it's punishing but each time you are learning, growing, getting better and better until you finally smash your way through that barrier and achieve your goal. Bloodborne is my favorite video game ever, I even own all of the Bloodborne board game that just released (You should totally play that on a stream sometime with the gang when you know, social distancing is over. Seriously you should see the minatures of the bosses!) I also feel that honestly, Rob even though this was about Bloodborne you gave out a message that a lot of people needed to hear, including me.

Rob, you've got a uniquely effective way of being both funny and inspiring without missing a note on either. As someone who both loves games and is mediocre at most, Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and many other non-soulsy games were huge struggles for me, but also very satisfying to overcome. And you put a lot of those difficulties into words better than I ever could.

The next stream is the finale of bloodborne for robs play through. (He may do the dlc at a later date if we all spam it like mad in the stream but it is unlikely) other noob series are starting so they will move on sadly. Dlc is extra but might surprise us laterin a challenge special? Now he has to do the four Horseman of bloodborne micolash, wet nurse, germain and possibly the moon presence.

OMG! I was in the same shoes as you! I was living in the bottom of old yharnam because of the four or five werewolves for 5 years. Somehow I got the courage to get back and now I have the platinum. Finally bought the dlc and making my rounds on that. (Dlc totally worth it for the new weapons)

DAMM, Rob, your writing here may be the best thing you've ever done! There's no way you weren't an English major. Your descriptions of emotional states at the beginning and end of the video were ASTONISHINGLY beautiful, and on top of that, accurate! You've NAILED the exact feeling I've felt so many times, and yet couldn't put into words as beautifully as you've done (and I AM an English major!) The ending had me smiling. This just came across my feed and thank you Rob. I’ve never played a soulsborne game, even though I got Demon Souls Remastered day one, have had Bloodborne through PlayStation Plus forever and truly enjoyed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which I hear plays so similarly. I just get anxious when I hear how difficult they are and know that, to get my platinum for God of War, I turned down the difficulty for the Valkyrie Queen fight. If I don’t start Demons Souls, then I hope to pick up Elden Ring, but regardless seeing how you’ve been able to kick your stress over the game in the rear, gives me hope I can as well.

Really amazing to see Rob start bloodborne all over, get back to the part he was stuck at, and then conquer it all alone. I really hope we can see Rob eventually finish the whole game solo. Beating the game in Co-op is a fantastic way to play the game, but it's a different kind of fun from beating the game solo. Even if Rob never goes on to finish the game solo or get the platinum, I just hope that he, and anyone else who felt like he did, can play and enjoy the game in their own way. Bloodborne is just too great to pass by

Thank you for this, Rob. I love hearing you talk about video games and I could listen to you for hours. This video essay, especially resonated with me because the way you described your journey through this game felt so similar to my own real life struggle with depression since April 2020 til now. The part where you admitted that you were an enemy to yourself and the cause of your own decent into darkness and despair, refusing help etc. That is exactly how I have been too. The final take-away from this is that no matter how big your challenge or how hopeless it feels, you can always overcome it and be ok eventually. Your Robservations" are timeless and applicable to real life as well as being generally awesome. Thank you so much! God bless you.

The Bloodborne streams got me back into the game after my own multi-year hiatus where I, like Rob, simply stopped playing after getting frustrated with the Yahar Gul area and The One Reborn. Rob ive just started playing Skyrim on again after putting about 500hrs into it on my Xbox 360.... I now cant enter a cave with out shouting "To me, to meee" to my companion. Thank you for that. 😂😂👍

What a brilliant game! I'm glad you finally got to enjoy it, Rob. It was the game the got me to love the souls/borne series. I remember that I didn't like DS1 when I first tried it many, many years ago, but Bloodborne changed all that. The souls/borne-series is now up there with the likes of Zelda, Final Fantasy and MGS as my favourite franchises. And to my surprise Bloodborne was my first ever platinum.

This may be my favourite video on the channel, which says a lot, but also blew me away so much I've started up Bloodborne myself again after years of pushing it off at the beginning

Not too long ago I installed bloodborne and played through a little bit of it , I knew that it was hard but I still dived in and tried to play it , I unfortunately ended up deleting it out of pure frustration ( I am not proud of this ) Edit : I recently reinstalled it and I am up to Rom the spider

I admittedly still need to try to overcome my own fear, anxiety and doubt about Bloodborne, and I don't just mean the game. I did the reverse played Demon's Souls to be ready for Bloodborne. Completed it and the dlc last week
