@@keishaparker5489 I do walk the dog daily, but that's it for anything close to physical exercise. Current weight is 156, so 11 more pounds in one year. Not a quick fix, but consistent progress with a focus on health, so I will take it!

@@keishaparker5489 I really had success with Noom; highly recommend! We are on a very tight budget, and I couldn't afford to try something that would be a "quick fix," at best! I thought Noom would be different, bc it emphasized the psychology of disordered eating, and it is different. Noom has been the only thing I have found to work, bc it taught me how to want to eat healthier, and how to change my relationship with food. I had tried WW, Slim Fast, Keto (including these overpriced Keto pills that gave me migraines,) and Nutrisystem (total was of money, imo, and food was horrific!) I had literally never been able to lose weight in a healthy way, and I had never been able to keep weight off if I did manage to lose a few lbs, like with Keto. I am in no way affiliated with Noom, but they helped me break a lifelong cycle of yoyo dieting, self loathing, and binge eating. I used the app for a year, and opted to get the additional support coach, coach Lisa, which was helpful and no extra cost.

I really like the way you look at this journey. I have been on Noom for 2 months and lost 15lbs and am plateauing. I have not exercised at all. Since listening to you talk about how much exercise helped, I am going to at least start to walk each day to build up my resistance (I am much older than you!). Thank you for the encouragement!

I LOVE your attitude about this journey!!! I am so glad I found your video, it's exactly what I needed. I just started NOOM - I'm into my third week. I used to think it was bad to weigh yourself every day but I'm learning HOW certain foods cause fluctuations. I feel like being aware of how your body reacts to certain foods can help us be more mindful. The psychology behind this whole journey is super fascinating and definitely eye-opening. I'm excited to see where this will take me. Fortunately, this time around, I'm in it for the journey and not in a rush to get to that arbitrary number on the scale. I'm with you in that I have a certain way I want my body to look - I've been there before so I'll know when I'm there based on how I look but most importantly how I feel. If that should be a number on the scale not aligned with the number I have in my head, so be it.

Great job Janine! I can totally relate because I was 198.5 about 10 years and had never been that heavy for my frame or height. I lost 55 pounds in 14 months. I trained with my trainer and ate clean. I've gained a little here and there but I'm not where I was. I have been looking at noom to jump start a weight loss journey currently. I want to lose about 10 -15 pounds. Oh yes! Portion control is a huge factor. 145-150 is a healthy weight for me.

I've been of Noom since early February and as of today have lost 13lbs. I love the things they teach you. Now I don't always measure my food. Sometimes I guesstimate if I can't but I always log. I'm interested in seeing how I log and measure my calorie intake without Noom when I finish.

Totally interested in seeing your weight loss journey. I actually started Noom today. I’m proud of myself for making that decision. I was diagnosed with lupus august 2020 and because of my meds and being disabled for a while ive gained so much weight. Ive always struggles with my weight but lately ive been my heaviest and just been unhappy. I want to be healthier. This seems like this will work for me. Like you I’m not going to no gym because of Rona and Omarion out here 😂

Yes! You have access to a coach and a group of other Noom users that started around the same time as you. I’ve heard that joining a Noom Facebook group is better than the group in the app, though.

I would rate Noom at an 8! I think it’s a great way to kickstart a weight loss journey, but I wouldn’t pay for it long term. It taught me to have a healthier relationship with food, and now I feel confident enough to be able to track on MyFitnessPal.

I lost 3st in lockdown counting calories and exercising but then after a few very stressful weeks I started to binge again and I gained a stone back on. Can someone please answer: once you do all of the mini courses (i'm on Noom 102 now and I'm still on the trial), do they just stop to give you lessons? Is it just a calorie tracking app after that? Because it will definitely take me less than 8 months to complete them, and I just don't want to pay for a calorie app. I LOVE the lessons, and if they still give me some for 8 months I will pay for the whole thing.
