I enjoy your content and I love channels that are informative because soo many car channels now lack that. I prefer the gg Evo since that is the car you've had the build series on and I believe it still has much more learning potential right from where you left off. Red Evo is nice but you will be starting from square one. Rhd is cool to drive but racing it may take a little getting used to. I believe all the jdm bits and pieces of the red Evo could bring in more viewers than the gg evo diy videos since more people watch for entertainment compared to learning. I prefer channels like yours where you grow and teach all your viewers. My example would be devin niemela vs Dustin williams. Devin has half mil subs but he works on his own cars bottom up and shows us how he does things. Dustin has 1 mil subs while he flashes all his jdm goodies. It's very entertaining but it doesn't teach you. No matter what you decide good luck and I look forward to seeing it.

Here's my thoughts (also being a jdm evo 8 owner). I have the same asperations as you with my build. I'm in the process of cleaning it up and doing RIGHT by it. This car is truly special and deserves the treatment. I'm starting off by cleaning up and degreasing everything, and repaint in the rough areas. Like yours, mine is MINT underneath. I want to try and keep it as true to jdm parts as possible, and take my time with planning. I've already done some mods to clean it up, but when the summertime gets here for me, thats when I can truly work on it. I'm excited to see your process and you're more than welcome to reach out and chat over insta/ social media to discuss the jdm differences!

This I'll will do to that jdm Evo, look for a full set of jdm 8 mr 05' alcantara seats the black ones with red Recaro logo and put all the stitching red, or jdm 9 full set and change alll the stitching to red either, door panels and arm rest matching the seats with red stitching too, all the pillars and the roof liner black too, harness bar and 5 points belts. Put the silver TE37 from the other Evo and choose a nice color for calipers, strut bar, valve cover, power brace, harness bar.

Already the red one is very unique. I can just imagine how this will turn out just by seeing how perfect the gg is... i would sell it if your plans are to build the “Ultimate Evo” Should be called project “RedFury” 😅

So excited and glad I found your channel dude, I love the technical details and the attention to detail. And I love the excitement over the tiny little differences, I’m the same way. Not much info out there for the little things, might be ahead of myself but if you don’t have a video already, I’d love to see a video on the differences between the JDM and USDM evo. I never knew about the seats, looks like it just has higher thigh bolsters? Very strange decision. On my 8th gen civic the jdm model gets different cup holders, sliding lids over the storage compartments, auto climate control, a diff hazard button for christs sake haha. It’s so weird how many little things they change that I feel like just cost them so much more money to produce separate parts for seemingly no reason at all.

Keep both and build the red one. Use the GG for daily driving. The Right-hand drive is hot and special. Both have an iron block (4G63) can withstand up to 1200 hp which is better than my 4B11T and lighter. Athough, I have to put a sleeve in my block once I hit 400 pounds of torque and I am close there to it, yo.

Thought process is similar moreover preserving the JDM Evo VIII and keeping it in its original state increases your investment over time. If finances isn’t an issue, continue building on the USDM GG Evo VIII since you already put time and money into it as your main semi-daily/track vehicle or you can sell it and look into something else in the future. Just my 2 cents. I could potentially see that JDM raising in value (stock form) in a few years far greater then modifying it.

@@ChrisGoorbarry it’s a tough choice, certainly one you would have to think about. I honesty love the fact you have a rare JDM Evo 8 in stock form, it’s hard enough finding a stock USDM model that’s not heavily priced. But you definitely have some options and I’m sure you’ll do what’s best for you. Keep up the great contents.

take all the rare and best parts and put them on the red evo. restore it and build it right. 350hp is perfect balance for an evo and it will be reliable as a daily and last for ever. sell the grey one and use that money to buy another car while u build the red evo. go for something that interests u and do some fun basic mods on it for extra content.

My opinion about the EVOs : I would put gigievo back to stock but I will keep it and then the Red EVO I would rebuild the engine and put the boltons from gigi and about the wheels I would put ADVAN wheels and I believe 600 bhp is enough check out also RHD japan for parts

@ltskinol
@ltskinol 3 жыл бұрын
THIS! First, you've put a lot of work in the GG car, and since it's kind-of KZbin-famous, you could definitely sell it as-is. I would argue that your careful work and "reasonable" modifications means that it's worth more modified than if you returned it to stock, so if you need the money, sell it as-is. For the red car - DO NOT MODIFY IT. Think: when you bought it, what was the appeal? It was that it was near stock and well-preserved. If you take the red one and modify it all to hell, you're ruining the value of the car. No one's going to care how many new bolts are in it if you've tacked on a bunch of aftermarket parts and built the engine. The red car is rare, and only valuable if you truly ONLY resto-mod it and keep it stock. Last: forget about 600 HP. To get to these kinds of numbers, people build up these awful, lumpy, loud and laggy motors. The cars all sound like crap, have the frickin exhaust shooting straight up through the hood (where's that catalytic converter?), no air filter, idle like a Pro Stock car and spool up the turbo at 4500 RPM. You can't get there with 2L of displacement without a lot of sacrifices, and once you make those sacrifices, you'll hate the car. The EVO is borderline annoying to live with on a daily basis stock - don't make it worse by trying to double the stock HP.
