I just found your channel yesterday and I can’t stop thinking about joining you on this no buy journey. I am on a desperate and continuous search for meaning in life without the distraction of overconsumption, aesthetics, and excessive social media use. I think this challenge could really be a really beneficial tool for me.

I mostly do those quick ones for a lil comedic affect here and there tbh 😅 inconsequential to the video most times and if people wanna know what it says I figure they can pause the video. for more important stuff I try to leave it on screen for longer, but I'll definitely keep that in mind in general !

I love the idea of a no/low-buy year but I just know in my heart I am not ready for that sort of drastic change let alone a year-long commitment. There is too much uncertainty and change in my life right now. But I want to work on getting rid of more stuff, organising what I want to keep and replacing low quality and badly worn-out things, because finally earn enough money that I can consider purchasing better quality things that make me happy rather than the cheapest options. In the end I am still working on being happy in my apartment and my life first, before I think about the next step of keeping it that way. I would however love seeing you do this challenge. I think it will be very motivating to keep going in my personal journey towards my version of minimalism and who knows maybe another year I will be ready for this. I also love that you pointed out that these challenges don't need to start on new year's. A reminder that you can always start change right now, is something that I just need occasionally.

Since we started our move towards minimalism have vastly reduced our spending, especially since we became retirees Currently, we are both in need of a wardrobe update so we do not want to start a no-buy year just yet. I'm in the same path as u. I use to hate fall and winter and in a sense I still don't enjoy fall and winter becuz I thrive in the heat lol. But.. at the same time I don't wanna live my life fully when it's hot, I want to enjoy my life all yr around. So I've been seeing a lot of influencers giving me inspiration to see fall and winter as hibernation and I like the sound of it lol. Cuz I hate getting out in the cold so I'm trying to do more home hobbies and be less outside for no reason. And it's gotten me excited just redirecting my way of thinking for fall and winter. I still don't do the fall aesthetic, I'm not into season decoration, I just wanna enjoy the cozy vibes 🥰 I'm doing it cuz I wanna live in the present no matter what season it is instead of just waiting until spring comes

I feel I've been on a similar journey in the past year or so because I also don't love the cold, but it feels such a waste to not try and enjoy the whole year and "hibernate" with enjoyable indoor hobbies 🥰

I'm 33 and realized too late in life that material things don't matter and we never get back time 😪selling/decluttering most of what I own so I can travel and maybe live abroad.

Do you count wearing your guy's clothes as part of your wardrobe? I had to borrow a short sleeve shirt from my guy to get a shot in the arm.

this is a great question!! I don't count his stuff as part of my wardrobe but I definitely do borrow from it every so often. his wardrobe is quite scant as well, so we don't have a crazy amount of clothes between the two of us.
