I really enjoy your videos and appreciate you taking the time to film and narrate. I subscribed after the first one I watched a few months ago. In the beginning of this video I noticed how easily you bent the I-Beams on the end of the trailer being demoed. I thought on the long ones you would put the E42's blade down on a section to pin it and use the bucket & thumb to bend it. Work your way down so the entire beam would fit into the trash container. Probably easier said than actually doing it I imagine. Anyway on that last section I wanted so bad to try it :) Got to tell you it was painful watching that little saw cut lol.

I like your videos so far, but I'd suggest getting a grading bucket. It will leave a much nicer looking site when done.

Use a concrete saw. That’s all we’ve ever used takes about 10-15 minutes to cut the frame up small enough to put it in our dump trailer.

Also invest in a 36inch or 48 inch root grapple. Much easier doing the tear down with that. Then clean up with a finish bucket or track loader

Hey Nick Root grapple! I could see how that would work great.

Now that you have experience, Have you ever considered going to a larger unit like an E60 which might require a CDL and bigger truck?
@Mr.Digger Жыл бұрын
Hi Premium Sure did. But I would have to get a larger truck and trailer. I’m retired, 69. I do this, mostly just to supplement my Social Security. If I was 30 years younger, it would certainly be a Do! Thanks so much for your com five minutes behind time is. And please subscribe. Thanks.

Great video! What size bucket is that? 30” or is that the 36”
@Mr.Digger Жыл бұрын
Hey, Samuel, Yeah, it’s a 36 inch. My go to Demo bucket. Works great for cleanup on the ground also. Like a big garden rake. Hope you subscribe. And thanks for the comment.

Concrete saw with metal blade. It would take less than 30 minutes to cut into 8ft pcs. Then scrap the frame it would pay for itself 1st or 2nd job

I have torn down a few small barns and sheds. Tear it down and break it down with your link or backhoe and pick it up with a skidsteer and grapple. Will cut your time in half. Would likely be worth it to rent the skidsteer after you have the project all torn down
@Mr.Digger7 ай бұрын
Hi Terry I have a t66 with a grapple. But sometimes if the demolition is too confined, I don’t have enough room to move around, so I use this method. But I do use both depending on the job. That Skidsteer grappler definitely the way to go

I want me one of those excavators

I’m really happy with this E-40 two. I wouldn’t go with anything smaller, you just can’t get the leverage and pull to do what I do in these videos. And anything smaller won’t handle a 3 foot bucket full of pond muck :-)

Hey there Wayne. Lots of fun. I just wish I could do more digging and not have to get jobs. Pretty time concerning.
@torkelsenhus Жыл бұрын
Can I ask about your rate? Do you charge by the hour?
@Mr.Digger Жыл бұрын
Hi Tork Rates in Oklahoma are $125 an hour for a mini excavator. But we can usually do a little better if we bid the jobs. We try to bid the jobs. Like this trailer was $6000. It took me three days and the dumpsters were about 2400 so I did make just over $1000 per day and that’s about six hours of EXCAVATOR time on the job. Hope that helps you.

Why demo it onsite. Wouldn't it be cheaper to haul it to a landfill and let them flatten it with their big dozers?
@Mr.Digger8 ай бұрын
Hi there 80 Trailers are typically 60 to 85 feet long so you have to cut them up small enough to either put them on a trailer or put them on a dumpster. The scrap metal is only worth about 80 bucks so it’s almost not worth dealing with if it’s very far from the job site.

Did you realize that the trailer is on blocks
@Mr.Digger9 ай бұрын
Yes, most are put on blocks and they even take the wheels off

You seriously gotta spend some money and buy yourself. A good name cutoff saw. It would’ve made easy work cutting that frame.
@Mr.Digger11 ай бұрын
Well, I tell you how I look at it. I’m retired and 70. I worked with tools all my life and I just hate dragging those big suckers around. This thing is so small I can almost put it in my pocket. Takes a little longer, but I’m enjoying it.
@banjax808 ай бұрын
A battery powered sawzall with a carbide metal cutting blade would cut that frame easily. Cuts mild steel like butter.
@Mr.Digger8 ай бұрын
I do have one. But I actually think this is better. At least for me.
