My name is Alex Araya and I am a 25 year old maker from Texas in the USA. It is great to have you here following along!
In this project I built a butcher style walnut countertop. Super fun. Let me know if you have any questions down in the comments :)

Great video! I have to get a Festool, it's at the top of my list. How do you like those Jet clamps?
@arayawoodworks
@arayawoodworks 3 жыл бұрын
It’s expensive but so worthy. I like them, the trigger can get stuck sometimes but I think that’s my fault for not keeping the clamps super clean

QUESTION... why not Tung Oil in lieu of Mineral Oil as a finish coat...
@arayawoodworks
@arayawoodworks 4 жыл бұрын
Great question. I gave the clients a couple of options and they decided to go with mineral oils to make it super easy to reapply often.
@mrpoolplayer6379
@mrpoolplayer6379 4 жыл бұрын
@@arayawoodworks Your project turned out well.... BUT Nut oils (boiled linseed, tung, etc.) are drying oils, but vegetable (peanut, olive) and mineral oils are non-drying. Edible mineral oil is popular on food contact items, like cutting boards. (NOTE; Cutting boards are continually washed & treated for bacteria). But, they do not dry to a solid film. Non-drying oils are considered a wood treatment, but not a finish..
