This piece of Bradford Pear is unremarkable except for the great bark which I wanted to keep as it's distinguishing characteristic. I had a little trouble coming up with a shape but I'm happy with the outcome. This one I will keep as a useful and attractive addition to my kitchen. Finished in Danish Oil.

Phil it is beautiful and it looks fantastic with the succulent in it. Plants give you lots of pleasure. Don't over water it, succulents don't need a lot of water. Always feel the soil before watering. Only water if the soil is totally dry. Enjoy your pot is awesome.

I winter Gerber Daisies over, some are 5 years old. They’re my babies!! Of course, as they get bigger the pot sizes get bigger, like 24x24 big. My husband gets me a 4 inch Gerber every Valentine’s Day, they’d look amazing in a pot like that. So, you might not be too excited about a flower pot, but I am! And that finish is beautiful! I use tung oil on furniture I restore, oils bring out the grain beautifully.

The subtle interplay of the wood colors is fascinating, but I guess the same could be said of most woods. God didn't make a lot of boring trees. But for many years they give shade, fruit, flowers and shelter to various creatures of the ecosy

Wonderful flowerpot. If you wrap your plastic pot in a clear plastic bag and trim off the excess edges, you don't need to remove the flower from the pot. Succulents doesn't need to be watered very often, they store water in their "leafs" and when they seem thin it's time to water again. Good luck! Greetings from Sweden. 🤩❤❤❤❤❤👍

I believe that plant is called a hen&chicks. doesn't need a lot of water, as it's a cousin to the cactus and it's on the tough side. Give it a good watering and you can leave for a month, if you want to hit the road. Or take with you! Come spring and it will start sprouting chicks! Some sun is nice, but it still does well in moderate light, like your kitchen window. The pot is a beautiful thing and the hen looks good in it!

I had an epiphany while making a bowl. We take a piece of wood that most people would consider useless, carve out all the center. The faster it spins the smoother the cut until something beautiful and useful is made. I asked God, is that what you are doing to me? I chuckled and said, spin away Lord! Faster Faster! LOL!

Wonderful piece Phil. Even if you only water before putting into this pot, you may go away for holidays or heaven forbid a family emergency or hospitalization, I would recommend a drainage hole or two in all decorative flower pots. It might someday be someone else watering your plants or even mother nature if it ends up on porch or deck.

🙋‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Hi Phil it's great that after turning for so long you can turn something you haven't turned before. I've read some of the other comments so no need to tell you what type of plan you bought. I also enjoy the funny remarks you make to yourself while you work, cracks me up, it's not just the turning I enjoy it's the things that you say from time to time which makes your videos so watchable. Keep it up, see you next week.

Nice little flower pot. Looks like a typical “Hen & Chicks” type of succulent. Lots of light, little water. Keep on turning Phil.
