Use the sewing awl next time to increase the whole size after the drilling to make the needles go through easier leather will refill the gaps when you tap the threading after sewing. also, use a drop of dish soap when soaking the leather and you only need to soak it like 30 seconds. But I was impressed with your work you made it happen and it turned out great .

If you use a wool daubber singe it with a lighter then just brush off the singe no more fibers.
