How I Made My Eclipse Jewel Headlights

We show you the process that is involved in retrofitting a set of Mitsubishi Eclipse Headlights with Acura jewel projectors. This video does not show every single step, but if you are watching it and it makes no sense to you, then you should probably not attempt the retrofit. It is very involved and very time consuming. Both headlights took at least 40 hours to complete. I may in the future design a new 3d printed headlight backing that would make this swap much easier. If I do I would be sell them as well as be able to perform this swap for other people. But with the current "puzzle" method I do not feel comfortable charging money for them. Also as I stated in the video, I will be posting all the photos I have of the process on our Facebook page so keep an eye out for that if you want more info. I want to take apart my 2019 Acura RDX headlights to paint some stuff inside. I have opened up a lot of headlights in my life with the oven but I don’t mind the heat gun method either. I need your advice. I’m so scared of ruining the electronics inside the housing when it’s heated. All the headlights I’ve done in the past, I’ve removed all the bulbs. It looks like you can’t remove bulbs like that for jewel eyes. Can you tell me exactly all the stuff I should remove before heating it up? I don’t want to ruin the LEDs inside.

I would just remove the modules off the bottom and then bake em. They will be alright I think

$2500 is kind of steep, even though it's prob 7 or 800 in parts just to start. They look great though. Not many people are doing this. Most eclipse owners aren't making that kinda of dough to shell out on headlights though, so the target audience is prob closer to $1200. Appreciate the video though for those who can't afford it, can try it on their own. Major props.

@@IT_Performance you could 3D print the brackets and the entire shrouds of the inside of the headlight. Even if you had to pay somebody to do it it would be a lot cheaper easier and much much faster to assemble

I know the actual parts have a fast and furious tax, but a good paintjob is gonna cost you some money. As well as all the labor in general. It really depends on how much you would be doing yourself and how much you would need others to do. But the car itself is a 420a car so thats pretty cheap haha

I just backed them back together. Resusing the sealant that was there originally

But Morimoto makes a headlight sealant i beleive its called retrorubber. You can find it on Amazon. As well as some other brands.

They are just for show. Many of these jewel refrofit are not 100% Able to be aimed probably. I forget the KZbin channel that went in detail with these kind of retrofits.
