You definitely can so long as your stitches are nice and small & secure! There’s probably a good 1/4 hand sewing in there anyway for closing gaps, the face, sewing the body shut, the collar etc. I wouldn’t really recommend the full Clarence doll for hand sewing as the dungarees can get tricky but, it is possible ofcourse but may need a few adjustments which I haven’t accounted for in the instructions (I.e. with the straps) 🥹🥹🥰
