As someone who loves music, but has no idea how to make any, I love watching behind the scenes of making music! I think it's best when someone records themselves making the song as they're doing it so that we can see their thought process better of what was going through their mind as they were making it

There's just something so heartwarming about this video! 💖 I'm always happy to see people explain things with a burning passion! As an artist, I find the "behind the scenes", the "inner kitchen" (as I call it) content very relatable! Seeing you making the first steps, doing experiments, leaving some versions in the drafts, tweaking things, sending parts of the song to your brother for feedback, having the "AHA!" moments and figuring things out, adding the finishing touches...It just makes the final creation all that more special. The context, the journey, the "how did I get here" is the most interesting thing to me, personally. When you know more about the journey, what it took you to get to the point that you are at now, it makes you view the "finished" piece in a completely different way. In a way where you appreciate it more, you admire it more, you cherish it more... 💖🌟 I'm really proud of you for releasing the song even if it didn't feel "perfect" to you! I know the "It could always be better, more perfect" thing and struggle with it myself, but the truth is, nothing will ever be "perfect"! :) I really hope that when you are in the process of making more songs, Dan, that you don't forget to document it! I'd love to see more videos like this! 🙌 That said, I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing your future tracks and videos! Keep up the good work, Dan, you're doing amazing! 🔥🌟

As making music, you sometimes get ideas, scrap ideas, make different riffs, patterns etc. Also, if you constantly working on your project/music, you will feel unease, hearing it again and again, it makes you feel it’s terrible or overwhelmed. But if you feel like that, just take a break, and do something else, or go to bed, after that it refresh you mind. Overall making music is a very relaxing art. But I hope you had fun making this. Hopefully you can continue making more. 💯

I know I’m a bit late to the party, but I’m glad you got new music! The chord progression you have is a great nostalgia progression. Using the Nashville number system, it’s a 1, Major 3, 6 5. The reason I said Major 3 instead of just 3 is because it’s a chord that is called “non-diatonic” (diatonic means belonging to the scale). The G# doesn’t belong in the key of C. More specifically than non-diatonic, it’s what’s called a “Secondary dominant chord.” It’s very common in lofi music. It’s also used in pop music. Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo and The Maybe Man by AJR are 2 good examples.

I really wish I knew how to make music like this... Spacedog is amazing. And prior to it, there is something about the music you see in retro games, or soundtracks like them in newer games that you enjoy, the best example I can think of is the "Town Night" music from Terraria, stellar track that one. ...all of that aside, Spacedog was phenomenal, and I'm looking forward to what ever music comes next! ( you did say more would be on the way...! )

0:01 I'm with you on that one, music hits better when you see the whole process of the song being made prior to listening to the final product.
