I always had this fear of people stealing my ideas so I always prefer to create my content rather than hiring freelancers. But if people can afford to hire top-notch freelancers then the chances of them stealing your content is minimal.

another creator had said to wait 3 months before turning on ads to allow book to be indexed on site. I thought that was too long too. That's why it's great to listen to multiple creators. He's great though, but still, I think earlier is better.

Hmmm Idk about waiting 3 months. If you have a book that starts making sales organically, you should definitely consider running ads right away to boost sales even more.

Hello there! Thats a great question. I took Rachel Harrison Sunds course and it really turned the light bulb on for me about how to do backend keywords. I would recommend checking out Nat from Rags to Niches video and also Ben from Money on the Sides video on how to add keywords to the 7 slots.

Im sorry that youve not had a great experience with publishing on KDP! It is definitely not easy and I do wish that more KZbinrs would speak to this. It's far from saturated. The key is coming with a micro niche idea no one has thought of. That's how I sold my first book in under 30 days. I haven't had the success Kim has (not even close), but I was pleasantly surprised with my results, given I started much later than her (2022). Most people choose topics and niches that are far too common or saturated. It's all about the micro niche. Stay away from generic journals, log books and the same examples you see over and over again. My best-selling niche idea has never been featured on any video. There was only one other book that was remotely similar to my idea when I uploaded. That was key. Congrats on your success, Kim! I admire your dedication to KDP. It just wasn't for me so I stopped creating, but it's far from saturated.

@@LisaIrby thanks sooo much for sharing Lisa! I agree with all of your points. Im gonna do another video at some point on ways to come up with Niche ideas. I think a lot of folks honestly are just used to having niches handed to them and dont take time to do the research or invest in their KDP businesses either. Not saying you need a lot of $ but you do need to take things up a notch with research, design and promotion. Theres no other way to cut it. Again thanks for commenting.

You are gonna have to branch out and publish more medium content books (puzzle, activity books) and as far as composition books now this is a realllllyyyy competitive market that requires a lot of sub niches to work. For example lets say you want to publish a composition notebook for kids. Even though its niched down already you need to go further. Heres an example; 1. Composition Notebook (main niche) 2. Primary Composition Notebook for Kids (sub) 3. Dinosaur Primary Composition Notebook for Kids Ages 4-8 (sub niched even more) 4. Dinosaur Primary Composition Notebook for Boys Ages 4-8 See what I did there? Once you come up with your sub niches, you’ll need to use a tool like the Self Publishing Titans Suggestions tool to verify that there are people searching for this. Hope this helps..:
