I'm here for it Wendy. I'm in your community ( I was your very first subscriber yay!) and have been following you for a little while and I love to see your growth and it inspires me to do something I've been wanting to do for such a long time- blogging and my love of gaming and books. I really look forward to the connections. This isn't the account I will be using, but I've been working on my branding.

I started by making videos that I wanted to see, but couldn't find much of on KZbin. I only did it because I enjoyed it and never thought I'd ever get monetized. That was 4 years ago. This was strictly on KZbin and I didn't stream. Things in the tech industry went downhill after COVID and I lost my job and it was tough getting anything else. I spent 9 months just focusing on KZbin and guess what? Monetized. I'm playing Sims 4 and honestly see a lot of other new KZbinrs out there making it as well with this game. It fits your theme and has a free to play version for base game now.

@@Lightflames85 yes, instant-gaming doesn't have as high requirements and I have a code for them. I may use it if EA creators network doesn't approve me soon. The reason why the creator network is preferred is that you also get early access to record videos before packs are released to the public.

Thank you Wendy! I've been puttering about trying to put together a plan that is diversified and focused on gaming interests. It was valuable to see your journey's story and what you highlighted as key areas critical for your own success. I'll be watching the digital marketing video you recommended and now considering including a blog. My own strategy involves an online store with primarily gaming apparel with a youtube channel about gaming, coupled with pinterest pages on gaming (with its own content, as well as entries highlighting the release of gaming content on YT and new additions to the online store). While I have intended to include TikTok and perhaps Facebook as other platforms for content, those plans are more nebulous. Your video makes me want to delve a little deeper into them to see how I could use them as well. And perhaps Twitch... In any case, its great to hear that the desperate times one faces at the beginning of reorganizing your life, if we suffer through them, can ultimately lead to much more positive times! Thanks again! JW.

I struggle to build a community and have people talking because of my boring introvert personality though
@SilentlyAdulting
@SilentlyAdulting 2 күн бұрын
I've watched videos by Simmers who do nothing but build without talking, and I have seen Minecraft videos that do the same. And they're popular. There's actually a market for videos where people game without talking. Or people will edit their video so that memes, gifs, and popular sound clips inserted at just the right time for comedic effect do the talking for them. Personally, I can't stand the sound of my own voice, so I came up with an idea of doing life skill videos like silent films so I don't need to talk. I'm sure you're not as boring as you think you are--and being entertaining during a stream is a skill, like any other, and it takes time to develop--but we all have our hang-ups. If it bothers you that much, then just find a workaround.

@@colinreidcr Streamers normally provide commentary, like a sportscaster, as they are playing--unless you bill yourself as a quiet, meditative, or cozy playthrough, so people know it's something they can watch to relax. Granted, if you're playing Call of Duty, then that's not going to be a great game for billing it as quiet and cozy, lol. With that, people want commentary. If you're a seasoned player of the game, then you could do commentary on basic controls and strats for newbies. Or you can play it comically, with funny catchphrases and over-the-top reactions. I've watched compilation videos of people who play MMOs and get really into character (I think the videos are all titled something like "When gamers become voice actors") and do some pretty serious voice acting. It can be both hilarious as well as realistic to the point it's kind of scary (makes the war games more real). I don't watch live streamers, but I watch several people who do gaming videos. WhinyBrit makes funny Sims videos and GrayStillPlays makes funny everything. But, even though they're videos, they still show the sort of commentary that people like to listen to while watching someone else play a game. As an introvert myself, I know that one of our superpowers is our ability to talk to ourselves. So just stream while talking to yourself about how it's going or what you're doing. People commenting on your stream is more like an interruption of your stream of consciousness; you reply to them, then get back to talking to yourself.
