I love the use of colours here. It's almost a sign, as I recently decided to step away from creating realistic paintings in the animals actual colours and start making paintings in colours I love. Makes for some interesting and beautiful pieces.

That's so generous of you, Daniel. Let's see, 7 rainbow-color inspired paintings plus 7 charcoal paintings plus the bear painting equals 15 works of art, spread across 60 brush sets -- so a 1 in 4 chance of winning!!! Best odds ever, plus you get an awesome set of brushes in the process! Unbelievable!

Thanks for showing your process all the way through. It was very inspiring. I loved seeing the sketches, the form and shading drew me in. And it was great to see how you turned them into painted artworks.

What is the tool you’re using the apply the charcoal powder in the sketching phase? I have some but not sure the best way to apply it.
@jondoh5874 күн бұрын
No expert here, but I like makeup sponges and makeup brushes for charcoal -- the softer, the better. Cotton balls (aka cotton wool?) work well, too. Have fun experimenting!
@Tazm1n4 күн бұрын
Do you spray the charcoal when it’s done in a pad for protection? Thank you.

Yep, with Windsor and Newton fixative spray

After using that particular paint set for an extended time, what do you think of it? Any new thoughts since doing the initial bear?
@StudioWildlife4 күн бұрын
They are actually designed for painting on shoes which I haven’t got a chance to try out yet! It would be unfair to compare them with actual fine art acrylic paints as it’s not what this particular make (Alphaflex) was designed for, but they do feel like high quality paints
@ytganipro81505 күн бұрын
I was wondering what oil paints do you use when you paint?
@StudioWildlife5 күн бұрын
These pieces were in acrylics, but my oils I’ve only just started to experiment with so I’ve not really got a set brand yet, but I’ve been using Cranfield which are really good and Windsor and Newton artists oils 😁

We had an art project a while back that made me subscribe to you so I could learn to paint a lion. Though I never got to paint one cause I was afraid I'd mess it up. I got to make a sunrise painting from the lion king though😂 But I take inspiration from you man love the paintings
