Tea bags - I’ve become obsessed and bought different herbal flavors for the various colors they create. They will look wonderful with your inspiration.

I remember a chap at an art club local to me at the time used to do tea watercolour paintings with the different coloured herbal teas, they were lovely and delicate. Your collection of tea bags will be super for collages - what a great idea! 💖

Thanks so much Carol, I really enjoy making these collage papers, I do them when I want to make something, but I am not sure what. Then I have a stash ready to use in art projects! 😊

Stunning and absolutely gorgeous!! You continue to provide wonderful content and endless inspiration, Kari. I thank you so very much. You've made an ENORMOUS difference in my work! I'm more confident and not so anxious about making everything "perfect". I thoroughly enjoy every video! Love & Bless 💗 xo EDIT: just wanted to add that you've also taught me that I don't need the "next big thing" in art supplies. I can make truly beautiful things with the stash I already have. THAT is the true inspiration I happily get from your work! Thank you 💗

Thanks so much Lindsey. I am so happy to read that you are getting more confident with your art and I am glad that you are enjoying the whole "wabi-sabi" aspect of art that I like too. I prefer things that are not perfect, they are much more pleasing to my eye. I am also very glad that you are finding joy in the stash you already have, it makes our own pieces of art uniquely ours. I hope you continue to have fun and thanks for leaving me with such a lovely comment, it means the world to me! 💗😁💗

@@KariGibsonArt Awww! Thank YOU! You always respond to comments so quickly. That's very kind of you 💗 I've a new job and I don't have as much time to create as I used to. Your channel is one of two that I make sure I watch. And you NEVER disappoint! You always keep me running to fetch my paints 😁 I can think of no higher praise! XO EDIT: P.S. I do love "wabi-sabi"! Such an apt description!

Kari, I love the idea of doing the collages onto tissue page! There’s so much you could do with it. It certainly would make for some interesting journal pages! Thanks so much for sharing! 😃
@KariGibsonArt4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Elaine - I know, the tissue is such a lovely substrate and it doesn't add too much bulk to the journal and I love the layering of translucent papers. Thanks for watching and for your lovely comments, I really appreciate them! 💖

You are always such an inspiration to me- I just love the way everything comes to life with your magic touch. I loved sharing the beautiful art you made with everyone via video. I actually opened your package at my friends house and she is an avid art collector and professional abstract photographer and was gushing over your work. This is wonderful watching you combine so many different textures together- I am always in awe of your creativity!! 🌹❤️🌹💖💖

Oh that’s lovely! You’re full of great ideas. I’ll have to try this, because I’m thinking about some pages that need covering up in my journal, and being tissue paper it’s perfect! Glad you like the Tea bag! Thanks 🙏🏻

I love the tea bags you sent - thanks so much. I am glad you like this idea, it works well for layering, which I love to do. I am glad you can rework those pages in your journal, it will be even better with the layers underneath showing through. 💖

Beautiful. I have not done any sewing yet...I need to break out my machine! I am dying to try it! I like how you use the collage in your journal 💕
@KariGibsonArt4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jovi, I just love to use sewing and fabrics on my journal pages and the beauty of this method is that I don't need to struggle to fit a journal under the needle! I hope you get your machine out and give it a go. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and make a comment, that is so kind of you.💕

Do you know how they make crunchy sounding collage papers? Is it Gesso or something else?
@KariGibsonArt Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mar, my favourite way to make crunchy paper is to use varnish on tissue, it has a lovely sound and feel to it, plus it goes a bit more transparent. The varnish I use is the solvent-based one. I hope that helps! 💗💗
@Psalm_27.4 Жыл бұрын
@@KariGibsonArt I have no knowledge about varnish! Can you provide more info? Is the varnish flammable?

Thank you so much Kari for your support, it means the world 🤗 I would love to return the gesture in one of my upcoming video, giving a shoutout is just such a lovely way to help a fellow artist, it never occurred to me so far but it's fantastic! I love translucent layers and thank you for sharing your method, it is a clever way to use textured layers in a journal too. I can't wait to watch when you will be showing the square journal from this video and if you could please share a bit more about what that book is, that would be lovely!
