I watched this video on a whim. I often wondered how customizers made their own packaging. I dont sell action figures but i do like customizing as a hobby. I still think it would be cool to make backings for display purposes.

You could always line up the art in a top corner glue it flip it and do the same in the same corner, that way they are completely lined up.

Yes, yes...a photoshop tutorial would be amazing! I have searched for a user friendly tutorial for ideas like this and custom baseball cards and there is no easy introductory video that focuses on card backers or custom trading cards in particular. That would be amazing if you did one!

Man, I love so much how specific and minut your instructions are, drawing attention to all the places where we would just assume there is nothing to it--then be so frustrated not understanding why the fold does not line up, and then likely redo the same damn thing again without realizing what minor precise techniques are needed to really make this look perfect. I'm confused how you only have 1000+ subscribers, but I assume this is a temporary situation. Subscribed!

They do but it isn’t something that’s easily purchasable or a process that’s easily done. Tape is cheap and effective
@Getbaddudes
@Getbaddudes 3 жыл бұрын
@@ToyKings Thanks. I think I found a way to use the glue now. I have to be careful because if the bubble moves at all before drying, it pulls ink off of the card. One more question if you don’t mind...do you print your cards with an inkjet or laser? My inkjet printer at home went out and lately I have been printing with Fed Ex and they use a laser. I spray both with a chalk clear coat afterword. Do you spray with a clear coat? Thanks again...we are trying to work through some engineering troubles. 😂

First, you totally remind me of the guy in MiB4 that had the time machine lol Second, I am considering making a card back. But I wonder how different the in-hand look and feel of this method is from (I may misapply a term here) the lithographic printing of a manufacturer's card? If you had to rate the finished card using this process on a scale of 1-5 (1 being macaroni art and 5 being holysh*t), what's your objective call?
@ToyKings
@ToyKings 3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the Printer quality but this one is pretty good I would say 4
@XMachete
@XMachete 3 жыл бұрын
@@ToyKings thanks, I am considering giving this a go for a figure I just commissioned. One thing I was also curious about: you used white card stock for your boarding, but is the gray boarding (or is that brown) normally used for action figures something that can be sourced in retail quantities? I have no idea how to about googling that.
@ToyKings
@ToyKings 3 жыл бұрын
It’s just going to have to be trial and error. I personally don’t care about it being the exact same as a vintage star wars card so mine are a touch thinker then the original but I’m sure you can find something equally the same as the original you just have to look around. I would start at the $1 store
