It is always great to watch someone who cares highly about their product they make and who teach how to make their product so well. I for one feel safe to follow your recipe because you have explained each step thoroughly. As a retired nurse I know the importance of good hygiene even if like me only making for myself close family and friends. Thank you. I watched your infused body butter first I to date only made infused oils to use in cold process soap and had been thinking how one could use herbs or flowers in body butter. Now I know. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your knowledge. When I return from travels I will definitely try out this process.

It’s my understanding that a lotion with a higher water content is for more dehydrated skin, while a body butter with its high fat content is great to seal in moisture after a shower but for what skin types and when is this great product best? I love your videos and I am beyond grateful that you share your beautiful recipes! I am new to all of it but very exited to try it out! ❤

Hibiscus should be rinsed of because it can be very sandy, also when steeping you cover the pot to keep the good stuff in, like when you make rose water

Love your studio! Just FYI, distilled water is not the same as sterile water...it can have bacteria. Not worth trying to source expensive sterile water tho...you are using a preservative.

May I ask what the giant double boiler type thing it is that you’re using?
@BodyHavenSoaps
@BodyHavenSoaps 2 жыл бұрын
A double boiler is two pots that fit together using the steam from the bottom pot to heat the top pot ,keeping direct heat off that products I simply use a pot with water on the bottom and a heat safe bowl for melting my product on the top :)

Hi I'm hoping you can give me some advice. I made this body butter. let it cool then I added the preservative l, fragrance, and vitamin e and it completely seperated. it would not incorporate into the butters. before I added the 3 ingredients above I had an absolutely beautiful mixture. any advice. I do have a pic but I can add to this comment. cheers tanya. I'll try finding your email
@BodyHavenSoaps
@BodyHavenSoaps 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tanya you have to add your other ingredients before it completely cools I add mine at about 100 f so it still incorporates but it has not completely set , as long as you are in the temp range for your preservative then it is fine to add hope this helps

I was wondering how does a cocoa butter that's been refined and bleached add any healing properties? Doesn't all that go away in the refinement?

Is distilled water necessary? I make body butter with hibiscus as colorant but I find that it fades. Unless I just don’t use enough hibiscus and let it soak longer in the oils?
@BodyHavenSoaps
@BodyHavenSoaps 2 жыл бұрын
You will not get much colour from steeping in oils well as you will need a why longer steeping time to get the benefits out , that is why I use water to draw out the colour and nutrients
@JennellBarrett
@JennellBarrett 2 жыл бұрын
@@BodyHavenSoaps I double boil it and seep it in glycerine. The color comes through but I don’t think I let it sit long enough. I tried it again last night but used more glycerin and let it double boil longer and got the same color as you 😊

Some say that olive oil is comedogenic..isn't it?
@BodyHavenSoaps
@BodyHavenSoaps 2 жыл бұрын
Although there are rumours about olive oil clogging pores, the truth is that in the right combination, the use of olive oil is not comedogenic.considering that olive oil provides great nutritional values and can help different types of skin do do use it in some combinations this can very in opinion and everyone has to form their own, I am only giving my opinion
