I think u should be able to do all your audio stuff through the usb cable too! Haven't tried with the MPC yet but it works with the M+. Just use the 404 as an audio interface. Sample back n forth through fx and everything - The only audio cable u need is lining out the 404.

*disclaimer* I don't own or know much about the SP, but... According to the manual, you can switch banks in the SP by switching MIDI channel. That could lead to some dope abilities to sequence the SP right from the MPC. I also found switching patches from the MPC on external synths via the program change to be super useful in auditioning new sounds. Never forget that MPC = MIDI Production Center and it's a beast at just that, no matter what the external gear is :) CH 1: Bank A CH 2: Bank B CH 3: Bank C CH 4: Bank D CH 5: Bank E CH 6: Bank F CH 7: Bank G CH 8: Bank H CH 9: Bank I CH 10: Bank J

I know that SP404 mk2 is cheaper, but MPC live II in thomann is not a top seller in 2023, but SP404 since 2021 has been a top seller and this is because the machine is cheaper and more stable with good technology, its 3.0 update now forces Akai to improve more aspects, because SP404 mk2 has powers that MPC live II cannot give. Rolan has created his best sampler including MV8800 arranger tricks, TR drum machine stuff and other sweet features like dumping stems for each pad sequenced and his powerful looper and vocoder function.
@tom-5412 жыл бұрын
thank you for this video! I've been curious about your workflow using these lately edit: cos you're using a midi program rather than an in-built drum program for your drums, you might be able to use note repeat in arp mode to get some wild percussion. Not sure how usable that would be though.

This setup is legit a dream, trying to get it to work today along with the Tascam 12. The thing I’m trying to wrap my mind around is the way the audio was routed out and back from the sp. I’m still kinda new to this stuff any advice would be greatly appreciated, just got my mk2 and I’m addicted. You’re absolutely right about the sound from the Live 2. Booted up my MPC 2500 the other day and there is just no comparison.

Cancelled my preorder for the SP .. still feel the urge to own it. I’ve been using Koala FX with my MPC through the send inserts of my audio interface. What tablet or phone you recommend with koala??
@tom-5412 жыл бұрын
I've got Koala on a couple of iOS devices but it's such a pain to use them. I don't mean koala itself, which is fantastic - but getting audio in and out of an iOS device. Camera connection kits, 3 apps to get midi din syncing working, notification bings from a local sushi restaurant etc etc. At that point I'd rather use a computer. But you can't argue with $500 cheaper, no one's got money to burn - I'm a bit conflicted.

I didn’t buy an MKII because I couldn’t use it as a USB audio interface (SP555 works great). The MPC is 44.1kHz out and the MkII is 48kHz (as I understand it). IS the MKII usable as a USB audio interface with the MPC Live II?

Great! SP404 MK2 should get an unpop setting in the next release - resembling what you do manually anyway, so it can be adjusted manually afterwards.

Hey JAde! Great video! Just letting anyone know that it's possible to get that factory stuff in the dark corners of the web. I wouldn't advise anyone to delete the factory content though. Every now and then I'll come across someone having problems with their MPC's because of that. Weird bugs, freezes, etc. A friend of mine has one and I spent hours browsing the web trying to fix it. It randomly crashed and freeze in some screens. After some time I was able to find the files and everything worked out. As far as I know AKAI does send everything needed in order to fix it. But it's probably better to go the safe route and get a hard drive.

Great Video Jade! I just use the 404 for extra FX, never had the urge to run midi to it. I'm tempted to get another MPC1, it would be great to have 1 dedicated to sequence synths and the other to be the sampler. The MPC touch screen sequencer grid is growing on me. I've had that low memory / storage message before. I just save everything on a 64GB SDXC card.

Def interested in that midi template thing cuz I was already thinking bout getting a tascam model to play Sounds from the sp on the mpc live while using the sp as the main output Still waiting for my sp tho 😁🤷🏾
@vittoriodentis119 Жыл бұрын
hi, can i ask you a question. are undecided whether to buy SP or the MPC. I'm not very interested in using it live and in common I would still interface with Ableton to finalize my works. I really like Lo Fi music but I'm afraid that SP is too much into Lo Fi music and can't get out of this genre. while for the MPC I'm afraid it's less immediate, more awkward to move (but it's not very serious) and that it's like having a computer and that it has many functions but superfluous if you intend to interface with Ableton. what do you recommend me?
