VHS is such an awesome format with loads of character. I dabble in audio production and it's a common "retro" technique to record digital audio to VHS to degrade it with some hiss, wobble and flutter. Although I have some plugins which do a pretty good job of simulating it.

Hi W'Paul - Cool video. I like how you got the old tech out and made it work like the new stuff. I do my videos using only a "point and shoot" camera with a big memory card in it. I've had my Canon for more then 15 years. Just lately I started using HD videos. To do that I had to buy a new camera and got it at Walmart for about $100. For editing I purchased Roxio Creator for $50 that was on sale at BestBuy in 2011. Funny, it was just a few years ago that people talked me into putting out a KZbin video to show off my game room. Only planned to make 2 or 3 videos. Now I've put out 200+ videos on my channel. It's been fun. See ya -- Atco

Doesn't say a lot about Sony camcorders though. The tape mechanisms suck. I have a old JVC and it is still going strong. Filmed my entire kids growing up with it had it since 1997 and it was 10 years old when I got it. Great video though, everything has a soft focus feel to it and over saturated colours. I did wonder why not leave out the VCR and go directly to the mac, then in your comments you state the Mac is down stairs plus I guess you got an archive on tape. Anyhow keep up the good work.😀

This was an interesting look at how you do what you do Paul. I have been trying to convert some old vhs footage to a digital signal. I have to do it in real time which takes a loooong time. Where I run in to problems is with rendering. Sony vegas doesn't want to convert the footage to something uploadable. It gets stuck at 80%
@weirdpaulp8 жыл бұрын
+The Vloginsons hmm. There's so many little problems to figure out and overcome with this new technology. I do it all in real time too, which is why I have so much old footage that is still not digitized...TONS of it. And it's starting to degrade, unfortunately.
