Nice recipe,want to try this. Is it possible to skip sodium alginate?
@NaturalWondersMalaysia2 жыл бұрын
You can. But you'll need to replace the amount of sodium alginate with xanthan gum. Also, excluding the sodium alginate will also effect the final texture of the product. Just bear in mind on that ok. :)

Hi please can gelatin next used only place of sodium Alginate?
@NaturalWondersMalaysia3 жыл бұрын
Hi dear. I’ve never tried with gelatine in making a face mask, but i believe it should work the same. But gelatine is much firmer than sodium alginate, so maybe start with a small amount first. Anyways, if worse comes to worst, you can just omit entirely the use of sodium alginate and increase the xanthan gum instead. It will differ in texture, but it’ll still make a thick gooey texture for a jelly mask. Hope this helps! 😊

Hello Love! I have a question and it’s probably dumb haha… but I plan to start formulating to start my skincare business but I’m still having trouble understanding grams. How do you know what 100 g is and is 100g the same to one container no matter the size??? 😖😅
@NaturalWondersMalaysia3 жыл бұрын
Hiii sweetheart! Haha no that’s not a dumb question at all. A lot of people are confused about this actually. So lemme try to explain it as clearly as i can 😊: First, volume is NOT the same as weight. Grams (g) is the measurement for weight, and liters (L) is the measurement for volume. Not all product has the exact same volume and weight. But some do. The easiest reference is water. 100g of water is always equal to 100ml in volume. But some other products are much heavier or lighter in weight. For example: Oil is very light in weight. So 100g of oil is NOT the same as 100ml of oil. It’s usually more. 100g of oil is usually around 120ml in volume. So if you’re making a face oil for instance, 100g of the face oil would probably make you 12 bottles of 10ml each (instead of 10 bottles). And to answer your question on how to know what 100g is and is 100g the same for every container size (i think this is what you meant right? 😅): To know how much or how little your finished product is in 100g, there’s no other way than to actually weight it. Weight your product on its own, minus the packaging and see what 100g looks like. Wet body scrubs are usually heavy. So 100g usually would fill up about only half the size of 100ml jar. And always alwayssss check the jar size properly. If the manufacturer says that the jar is 50g in size, that’s usually in reference to water weight, which is equivalent to 50ml in size. So if you plan to fill up the jar with a face gel for example, then it’s pretty much the same in terms of weight and volume since gels are almost 90% water, and thus it would have the same weight as water as well. But if you plan to fill that 50g jar with face scrub which is heavier, then that same jar size could probably take up to 70g of the scrub. I hope that’s not too confusing 😅 Maybe i’ll make a video to explain these things further with a visual example. 😊

Hello where do you order labels for your jars please help! I’ve found some websites but they kind of expensive
@NaturalWondersMalaysia3 жыл бұрын
Hi love! I'm based in Malaysia, and I got my packaging supplies locally from a factory here. It's called Glass & Plastic Packaging Sdn Bhd. Same goes to the labels, i order mine from Print Expert, in Malaysia. Try to source for a supplier in your country to save more on shipping costs. You can also try checking wholesalers from China on Alibaba.com. They do sell almost everything at a cheaper price, but minus the shipping. :)

Can one use vitamin c acid in place of the lemon extract ??
@NaturalWondersMalaysia3 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes you can. But also do take note that pure Vitamin C is pretty reactive and unstable, and the effectiveness of the end product will decrease over time, faster than when used other ingredients that are rich in Vitamin C. Which is also why I always prefer to use other natural ingredients that are just potent with Vitamin C instead. It's much more stable. Hope this makes sense! :)
@abdellaouistdiy58893 жыл бұрын
@@NaturalWondersMalaysia so howa WE Can stabisate vitamine c?!
@NaturalWondersMalaysia3 жыл бұрын
@@abdellaouistdiy5889 basically, you can’t. That’s just the nature of the ingredient. You can only work your way around it. Which means if you choose to add vitamin c in your products, you will need to use it within a week or so, before it oxidizes and loses its effects. But you can definitely slow down the process. You can do so by adding vitamin c only in products with low water content, and by packaging them in dark/opaque bottles/jars because light makes vitamin c reacts faster.

Hi there! i just wanted to ask, how does the essential oil mix in with the mask since its water based? because im looking forward to trying this out by using xanthan gum as my gelling agent
@NaturalWondersMalaysia3 жыл бұрын
Hi dear! Well basically it doesn’t “mix” like it would regularly with any oil based products, but since it’s a gel, it suspends the oils in it instead of having the oils sit on top of the liquid. But it you want a better oil dispersion, you can add Polysorbate 20 to the product in the cool-down phase. :)
@clarewhite30042 жыл бұрын
@@NaturalWondersMalaysia Suspending droplets of essential oil is risky. You can seriously irritate skin like that. You gotta solubilize it. Also, lemon essential oil is photosensitizing, so it's not a good choice for skincare.
