In how i met my husband i talk about about how i became a born again christian at 30, met my husband and got married at 35. I explain how meeting my husband was both surprising and unexpected. I explain how i developed intimacy with God which was so important in completeing me and preparing me for marriage. I talk about how God was dealing with me on certain things that at the time made me feel that i was nowhere close to getting married. I also talk about how God prepared me so that by the time i met my husband and got married i was marrying for the right reasons not because i felt marriage would complete me or because it was a solution to a problem in my life.
I hope that by sharing my personal story/testimony it will encourage singles waiting for marriage or those waiting on God for something. I hope it will show you that there are things we can do while we are single that will benefit our marriages when we eventually meet the right person and get married. Stay encouraged!

What really helped was that I realised that I could trust God to bring me the right husband. The bible says 'every good and perfect gift comes from God'. Dont stop praying about marriage, it means a lot to you so it will mean a lot to God.

I saw a video by Pastor Munroe where he said that God doesn't choose a partner for you but he does parade the possible candidates for you to choose. This is kind of true cause I don't remember anywhere in the bible where God choose a husband/wife for anyone.

I have felt that way too. For years family had been bugging me about a church friend, and I've always thought "no". Then, for a minute I was starting to think maybe they were right. Well, I also have strayed from God for some time, and just recently returned, but I feel completely different about it. Like why didn't I get it before. My last romantic interest was for a close friend, and I was convinced he was my person. I understand he's not for me because we are not equally yoked, and I'm good with it now. I recently said to God your will be done. It was very scary for me. I have peace like I've never had in relation to being married. I think I was making an idol of it, because it is all I've wanted for as long as i can remember. I believe I was given a message about who I will marry, and believe me I have been trying to disprove it. So now I have faith that this was a message from God. I am preparing myself to be a better partner for when that time comes

What I loved about this video, is that you literally spent most of time (20 minutes or more) speaking about how God built your relationship with Him, before meeting your husband! It was really encouraging, not only to be willing to surrender our desires for marriage to God, but also to let Him shape us into who He intended us to be, regardless the topic of marriage! The way you shared it is not very common because oftentimes, videos entitled like yours tend to go more into details about the "meeting part", which is not a bad thing at all. Hello, I discovered your channel late last night and I can absolutely say that you were an answered prayer on so many levels. I can relate to every feeling from the heightened sensitivity to death to the growing inward pressure to get married. I have often fought will the thought of if God even wants me to marry and much more daunting how do I know I will live to experience it. So to hear you speak of theses same inward struggles is so refreshing. I also have been praying about intimacy with God ( a topic you touched a lot on in another video....yes I binged on your videos last night..lol). I woke up this morning with a sense of relief because these videos spoke to my heart. I also can relate to God telling you that marriage was an idol in your life. I've come to know peace and I'm cultivating a fulfilled life that doesn't require being in a relationship as the only requirement for happiness. Please pray for as the distractions are many.

The process of being intimate with God begun last year when I was 34. And your video resonates with what God spoke to me that he is more interested in my relationship with him than marriage. Then God begun to show me the things I should begin to work on and some mistakes I made in previous relationship, and to just surrender to him. Loved this video especially the part about intimacy with Christ. Will be 43 next year. Would like to be married and will cultivate a deeper relationship with God and trust Him for the timing. I always felt I needed a man's love to heal me, but I'm coming little by little to see that God loves me and that a husband cannot make me whole. Still a ways to go.

I just found your channel yesterday and really enjoy your videos. I am 37 this year and never dated. I used to think it's OK to stay single but my desire to be married has changed since last year when I met someone. He is a born again Christian but I don't think he has feelings for me. I have prayed and fasted and have told God about my desire. And I leave my marriage request "open", I did pray for him as a brother in Christ and told the Lord that I wish that's him but if it's not, then I wish someone like him. I am single, Christian, 32, raised in the church and struggle to even find Christian men to date who believe sex should be saved for marriage and who want to pursue a godly marriage. So the effect is that I don't really get to date. I wish I could just spend time with men as I have almost zero experience with the opposite sex. It's hard enough to understand men and then the layer of being a Christian, having values and standards raises the bar so high I feel so hopeless. As you know i became born again at the age of 30 and got married at the age of 35, i dated as a non christian till i was 30 and i can tell you from my own experience that your lack of experience with the opposite sex is not a hindrance to meeting and being loved by the man God has for you and dating is not the way to prepare for marriage. i know how frustrated you must feel knowing that you have so much good to bring to your marriage and husband But don't grow weary, God is not a man that he should lie. He will surely do it. Use this 'waiting' season to grow spiritually (you will need it for marriage) and to prepare for marriage. I hear you Sister! I’m 35 and single and living alone during this pandemic has been the most discouraging Time I’ve ever known in my singleness. I agree, it’s good to have people you trust pray for you and let them know you might be open to being set up with someone. Having faith is not a passive activity, it’s a balance of waiting, discernment, and taking appropriate actions to put yourself out there. I can relate to that, even if I'm still 24. I have big plans for my life on how to serve God and I know one of the parts of it is getting married to a godly man. I've never kissed, never had a boyfriend, and unfortunately, all the guys that seemed or expressed any interest in relation to me weren't Christians or were from another country 😪. I know I should trust more God, but I feel so anxious about it (probably because I am, just like God revealed to you, idolizing marriage). So, thanks a lot for the amazing testimony. I would just ask you to pray for my situation. Another thing is that my mother doesn't let talk to guys (it doesn't matter if they are Christians or not 😅). It confirmed some things I have been thinking about, one being whether I am making marriage (the desire for it) an idol in my life and two being whether I should step back from focusing on this for a season. I really want to be a whole person and have a whole relationship with God and I don’t want my perception of God’s love for me to be based on whether or not I ever get married. God speaks and he wants us to have a relationship with him, only then can we hear him clearly and subsequently trust him. i had been depressed about how my life has been going until one evening i stayed back at work and i asked for his peace which no man gives, i felt the peace that night and then i kept saying God loves me too much this was 2018, i walked home feeling so high like i was high, my neighbor called me and he received Christ that night seeing the joy i had. Someway along i lost this joy but now i am back on track with Christ.

Well for me, I am still very young, I am just 28 years, the truth is at 15years, I already had a serious marriage proposal and it continued as in grew in Virtue, Vision and love for God, the truth is alot of Men came seeking for my hand but somehow there wasn't a connection. Even the Guy I loved and dated for Four years, just yesterday walked away and somehow I am strong because of God's pre-infromed vision. A lot of friends and loved ones personally took it upon themselves to pray for me but, I know they love me, but then all there Love put together can never Equate to the Love God has for me. Wow! Thanks for sharing your inspiring story..I think it wasn't by accident I stumbled on this video this afternoon. I'll be 30 by July 2021 & i just got out of a relationship 2days ago simply because I don't feel connected to the guy ( a friend hook us up) and I really don't wanna Rush into marriage cos I'm pressured by my age or anything. And now I just feel so worried about my age and waiting to find God's appointed choice for me. But this story has taught me quite alot.. I'm looking forward to a more intimate journey with God. Thank you very much, I saw another light. I need advice, as a single Christian lady, I promised God to keep myself pure till marriage. But almost all the men that come for me demand for sex, I have had several breakups on that fact, cuz I can't let go of God or defile myself because of marriage. Even my marriage that supposed to hold on August failed because of that, I was even surprise because the last person was even a brother, he thought me Christ back then in school, I saw him as my answered prayer with the believe he will waite for sex and my salvation is safe with him, yet he still demanded for it. I prayed before accepting the proposal and the answer was yes, I'm confused, I don't believe my dreams again or atimes my conviction. In fact I have lost interest in starting another relationship. I just want to build a stronger intimacy with God. I know that God will not give me a helper that will take His glory.

Hello, i was watching this video and it is really true. I mean, the marriage can't be just a thing to fill our hearts. Because it can't fill our hearts and we should'nt think that after marriage we will be happier than now. I also like as you said that we have to work on our relationship with God. Of course, it is sometimes hard, give up our 'dreams' and give it to God, but i am so happy that God really spoke to you in certain ways. I think that it also spoke to me through you and I am happy about that. Sometimes it is hard, but it is really important to give 100% to God and he will take care for the rest of our needs❤️ i am 22 and was born again when I was about 18 years. I don't know when it will come to my life, but I want to believe God and his grace and lovely hands. Thank you for sharing, I think it is very important sharing these things with people, because this is what they are really going through..

You know just this afternoon I felt really bad about this spinsterhood stuff and had lots of questions on my mind which includes how can I really be happy? I know marriage can't make me happy neither do having children or everything in this world will make me happy. Reading your comment reminded me of the times when i felt frustrated or scared or sad during my single days. As you rightly mentioned marriage and children are a blessing from God but they cannot complete you only God can do that. The truth is that we need God to be able to enjoy our marriage and children and the other things he has blessed us with. Surrendering to God is a matter of trust. We can't surrender to God if we don't trust fully him. The way to build trust in God is to read the word of God, think about or meditate on the promises he has made in his word and spend time with him in prayer. You will get to know him as your faithful father who loves you. As you get to know him it becomes easier fto surrender our lives and our desires (like marriage and children etc) to him because we know that he reallly cares about those things for us as well. Don't be discouraged, it is well! One thing i learned from my single days is that there is so much that God can do in your life so many adventures and experiences you can have when you put your trust in him. Hello my dear sister in Christ, Well let me start by thanking you for sharing your story and for being so open and honest. 🙏🏼 There are so many similarities with what you've been through and where I'm in life currently. I was a born again at 30 and I'm 33 now. I wake every morning around 4-6am with the sensation that l need to talk to GOD. And l have been talking to the Father for some time now. I've also wondered if I'd ever get married but recently felt peace about it. And the funny thing is that l've also felt like God was asking me to marry this man, l did't see in that way 😂😂😂 And thankfully He didn't!! 🙏🏼 I feel like God led me to you because l needed to calm down, trust more and work on my relationship with Him. Your story also gives me hope that God in his perfect timing will reveal to me whom l should marry. Oh one more thing...I'm on my 12th day of fasting. It is a good idea to talk to him about your feelings and possibly take time out from the relationship. This will give you the opportunity to really seek God regarding his will for you and him without the pressure of the relationship. Don't rush it or feel any pressure to make a commitment that you are not comfortable with. The bible tells us that God is not the author of confusion so he will guide you. God bless & take care
