Byakuya may have a lot of moves but its not as op as it may seem. Mist of them have huge windup with no super or hyper armor and also share the same cd. If you get into his moveset he's pretty easy to counter

For me, the game is not that popular because it tries to focus on balance. Which most of the players do not care about. Like, how much braindead characters in ABA do exist at the moment right now? There are a lot of characters you can play as but most of players do not care. If a player finds out a character that is a free way to get money - he will use it until get bored with grinding or the gameplay. There's probably another reason for a low popularity of SU. But I think my point stands here as well. Just how many runners (cooldown waiters)/spammers (1-2-3-4-tries to m1) did you witness in SU or ABA? Maybe not in ranked but in public servers for sure.
