How I Organise Myself At The Start Of a New Year + Cleaning and Organising With Me

In this weeks’ episode I’m sharing more of my personal and business goals for 2022. Join me as I take you through my day of planning and working on the Nicolas Fairford brand and learn how I stay on top of things. I’ll be sharing my tips to get your fridge organised and cleaning on a low budget and a lovely sweet recipe that goes beautifully with a cup of tea.

The chocolate candy recipe:
2 cups of nuts
1 ½ cups dark keto-friendly chocolate - 70% cocoa works best
1 cup nut butter
3 tablespoons refined coconut oil
Heaping ⅓ cup confectioners swerve or Sweetener
Add the nuts to a zip-lock back and bash with a rolling pin to crush them - set aside.
Add the chocolate, nut butter, and coconut oil to a large bowl and mix together.
Heat in the microwave at 50 second intervals until everything has melted.
Pour the nuts and confectioners swerve / sweetener into the bowl and mix together until combined.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and pour the mixture into it.
Cool in the freezer for at least one hour
Once frozen, cut into squares and enjoy!

As a gardener I would like to recommend to you to cut the stems of your flowers with a sharp and short knive not with scissors as they squeeze the stems and disturb the water uptake of the flowers so that they wither earlier.

I think one mistake people make when making resolutions is that they make too many. And they make them too big or unattainable. I love your idea of quarterly goals. It doesn't seem so daunting. Still, when you’re sick it’s nice to be inside binge watching KZbin/Netflix etc etc. stay safe & away from the dreaded Covid bugs! ☕️😘

May I share a kitchen tip? Using glass containers/bowls for storing and baking is truly the best way to go. Plastic is not environmentally friendly, can leak chemicals on to food (the process is called leaching), it contains more bacteria than glass, and lastly plastic can modify the taste of food. And I would add to this that microwaving in plastic is also unhealthy. Glass or ceramic is better. But better yet, less microwaving for better health!

Coincidentally I had similar misgivings about not reading enough and started a historical fiction book club with a friend just prior COVID. I’ve been using the lovely “With Compliments” card that came with the Botanical Candle package as a bookmark as the charming depiction of the ladybug was too special to discard. Congrats on 140K subs! Organizing is one of the traditional things I also do after the New Year. I'm getting better about staying organized throughout the year but it's taken a lot of practice on my part. Haha! I really appreciate your natural cleaning techniques vs. chemical/traditional cleaning solutions. I hope to do better that way with your inspiration. Love your videos. May I make one suggestion about coconut oil? I went vegetarian and started using coconut oil and coconut milk. At my annual Dr. appt. my cholesterol shot up 100 points.....in one year. First thing my doctor asked? "Have you been using coconut oil?". Seems it can raise cholesterol and in my case......a lot. I stopped using it and my cholesterol returned to normal, but it took six months. So do use it, but sparingly. Have a good weekend.

Those stackable clear containers are fabulous I actually brought some from Walmart last year. They come is different group able sizes and match the decor. The clear flip handle with the air lock seem allows food to stay fresh. I loved them so much I purchased my daughter a starter set also you can get the sets or buy individual pieces based on your personal needs. About reading books - recently I found for myself audiobooks - I work beside a computer all day long and I don't want to overstress my eyes with screens in my leisure time. So I decided to listen to audio books - it was a great discovery! During listening you have free hands and can do other useful things! You can listen while travelling! And if a reader is pleasant to hear then it is a real treat when somebody is reading to you! Really recommend audio books! In this way reading doesn't take you free time, it's like it's giving free time to you and making other things (like cleaning, exercises) enjoyable.

Hi! I love your approach to staying in good shape and eating healthily. I heard that heating food up in a plastic container creates xenoestrogen or exoestrogen, which is a carcinogen/can cause cancer. Please double check to make sure that's correct, but I use glass now whenever I reheat something.

Nicolas, I love your videos, the sound of your voice, the beauty of your home, the flower arrangements you do, watching you cook and prepare to entertain, and I could go on and on with all the wonderful things about you. I do not mean this as a negative comment; only stating my personal taste. I do not like how you display all your books on every surface in your home. The books you display are very nice, obviously expensive, and of great interest. They are not books a person sits and reads like a novel or biography. I would prefer you put your books in a bookcase with the spine and title facing out displaying your wide variety and great taste. I would also love to see the beautiful settee in your dining room empty of books with a couple of soft pillows as a place to sit and actually read a book. I would also love to see your dining table bare of books with one of your amazing flower arrangements in the middle or to the back, possibly with one of your various beautiful tea sets laid out for your afternoon tea. It would be a nice way to use your wide variety of tea sets as well as show them off in your videos. As I said, this is not to be taken as a criticism. I know a lot of people display their coffee table boos as you do. You do what pleases you! Thanks for your extremely calming vlog. I look forward to it each week.
