I posted in the Simplicity FB last week. These pattern boxes are now sold at the Dollar Tree. Everything at Dollar Tree is...$1. I bought 12 in the store last week. I went back and found 10 more just in case. They are amazing pattern boxes, they are brown cardboard so I am covering mine. You can order them online too but you have to order a case of 24 and free shipping to your Dollar Tree store.

Love this idea to really organize your patterns. I need this in my life.

I meant to add that the Dollar Tree pattern boxes hold 35 patterns without crowding them in. If your using the Big 4 patterns. The large size designer Vogue patterns fit perfectly turned 90 degrees.

I love those boxes and used them for work all the time. Haven’t found them for years!

I know! Why did they stop making them?! There's no explanation for it!

I have too many patterns! 2 four drawer file cabinets and 2 two drawer cabinets plus boxes for doll and dog patterns! Trying to sell more at my Etsy shop.

I'm so glad I read some of the other comments before posting! I have a measly three of this size box and I just love them for storing patterns! Of course I have way more than three boxes will hold! But I bought them decades ago when I first started sewing and then could never find more. This was of course before the age of the internet. I'm glad to read there are choices now! I'll be on the hunt for some! I have my boxes labeled A, B, and C, and then in a notebook I've written what types of patterns are in each box. Just an alternate idea. 😉

I work in a fabric store... yeah now it is closed and we sell boxes for patterns, they are not expensive. You just have to search a little more and you will find some. TFS Christine 🇨🇦

Ok, now that we're salivating about boxes we can't buy, how about everyone offering their suggestions for an equivalent solution? Love the stickers. So cute and generous to share them!!! Thank you!

Not sure what boxes to recommend. I did find some fabric covered ones on Amazon but it was like $30 for a two pack. However, sewingforswing on Instagram just released a new pattern for a Pattern Envelope Template that's pretty cool.

That's a great idea! Would love to hear other ideas. The only other thing I can think of than the expensive boxes I linked in the description box are regular file boxes, but you store the patterns on their sides. It would take up more space though.

I have similar boxes I got from hancocks fabrics years ago. Wish I bought many more when they went out of business. Since then I’ve saved shoe boxes that allow them to stand upright and have them all on a shelf together 😀

Hi! Awesome video! I was wondering, could you maybe make a tutorial on how to make dog bandanas?

Cut a square. Fold it in half along the diagonal RST and sew around the edges leaving a hole for turning. Turn out. Press. Top stitch. Tada!

That is a really sweet system, I have so many, at least a1,000, actually maybe over 2,000.; I clearly have a problem. Don’t even ask how many sewing machines I have, ugh!I was going to start an Etsy shop,selling them and I probably still will, but I am naughty and have used a ton of them! Anyway I have boxes I get from my protein bars that happens to fit them really well. They don’t have a top, but I don’t mind because I’m in them all the time. I also busted my stash and covered them with fabric. All different pinks. It’s really cute on the shelf. I have struggle with how to categorize them though. I think I’m going to do it the way you have and then prioritize them. The one thing though is tops and dress are mostly the same to me and that’s why I haven’t done it. I guess I’ll try it. Thanks for sharing. I am going to check out the rest of your organization videos too. I’ve gotten pretty good so I can put everything in it’s place now. Whew! What a difference it’s made. You get overrun with this stuff otherwise. I hope you have done or are doing your fabric 👚👗🧵😇

Any tips for storing patterns after youve cut them and used them for a project? I do a lot of sewing for my kids and they all seem to have a million and a half pieces so they don’t fold nicely back into the original packing
@InsidetheHem3 жыл бұрын
I just put them back in the envelope. But I don’t have a bunch of small pieces for kids clothes so IDK.

Great information. Can you tell me the dimensions of the boxes you have.
@InsidetheHem4 жыл бұрын
They are half file boxes. So whatever that would be. I'm guessing 12 deep, 9 tall, and maybe 8 wide?
@sessuna2 жыл бұрын
They look similar in size to comic book storage boxes.
@noemir82624 жыл бұрын
What about patterns with mixed items (tops, bottoms, etc)? How do you choose which box to store them in?.
@InsidetheHem4 жыл бұрын
I have one called "separates" for those.

These look a lot like comic book boxes. What are the dimensions of your boxes?
@InsidetheHem4 жыл бұрын
Something like 6x11x13. I’m guessing.

Ok, Lindsey, everyone liked those boxes and would use them IF they were still being made. This is something for you to make a lot of money on after this chaos is over. 😉

you can just cut it using a scissor

Oh no!!!! You can let google know if the ads your seeing are not your preference and they will tailor them to you better...supposedly!!
