This seems like what I have been looking for! Will the sinking fund pull from the total in the account it's set to pull from ? So let's say I want to always be sure I have money set back for my pet fund and don't want to rely on my bank app since that doesn't reflect my sinking funds. Will your template reflect the balance minus what is in the sinking fund?

Ahh! I'm so happy to hear that! To answer your question, the sinking fund accounts and the bank accounts are separate. I think this is mostly personal preference based on what you're asking! I always want my bank account in Notion to match my actuals so it's easy to reconcile. So if I add money to my sinking fund, I add it to the SF account AND my bank account in Notion. But, if you don't want your bank account total to include the amount in your sinking funds, you definitely don't have to add it to your bank account! You'll just want to keep that difference in mind when going to reconcile. :) Hope that helps!

Hello! My budget comparison section is no longer matching up to my actual spending. The categories say $0. How can I fix this?

How do I go about resetting everything? I want to start from a blank slate and remove old entries.

I would create a new view in the register database that just shows everything and bulk delete from there!

when you talk about having a separate account for bill amounts, would you recommend that be separate from my primary accounts? i currently have this tied to my primary accounts but i can see it; should it be out of sight out of mind? i also dont know if i separate it, if ill remember to keep an eye on it though and make sure theres enough, that things are being paid as they should and that money is being xfer'd into that account to cover any bills (not sure if i want it 100% on auto pilot). thanks for the great video, ill definitely be checking out the ones youve linked!

Yes exactly! Out of sight out of mind helps us remember what we have available to spend and not overspend on anything. Of course it’s totally up to you and your comfort level, but I’ve been SO glad I set this up because it takes away so much stress for me. Autopilot is great for me because I have plenty of other things to think about! 🤪 Since I log my transactions weekly, I take that time to check on the account and make sure everything’s looking good. I have two tricks to setting it up to make sure it never overdrafts. 1. If you have bills that are variable, take an average of the bill amount over the past year to see how much you should move each month. (Add a few extra dollars if you’re worried at first.) 2. Make the transfer 2-3 weeks before the bill comes out to make sure it’s gets there in time. This required some planning ahead the first month, but once you get on a schedule for it you’re good to go! Highly recommend making a “paycheck breakdown” to make sure you know exactly what’s coming out and when! Hope that helps!

@@itskatwaugh not sure what happened to the reply i was just typing🤔🤷🏼‍♀ (i apologize if there end up being this and a half typed reply) It absolutely helps! only in the last few months have i started really trying to set up the notion account i always had im guessing, dont remember creating it, it was awhile back! Im definitely going to check out your other videos, do you have one for paycheck breakdown? Im thinking youre absolutely right, im better off keeping the accounts out of sight, automate the transfers on payday so i dont have time to notice the full amount and feel like its been taken. notion is amazing but omg is it ever alot on my adhd brain at times... Thanks for the tips! if you have links to your ig and productivity inspiration (or really any doom scroll-able content) im headed there next ☺

@@Renee_egan I don't have a video specifically on the paycheck breakdowns, I think I briefly mentioned it in this video! It's very simple though, it's something I like to manually update if things change to make sure everything is accounted for. I just list the paycheck, then bullet point underneath that all of the bills/expenses/savings that are coming from that check and include where they're going if I need to move them to another account! Yes! My IG is @itskatwaugh, I hang out there the most! I also have a "Notion tips you need to know" series on my TikTok which is also @itskatwaugh! :) See ya there!

Hey there! Yes, I'm in the process of migrating off of Etsy onto my own site!! Unfortunately the templates will be unavailable for a few days during that process, but they should be back by the end of the week. 😎
