Thank you. I am exactly where you said you were. I look forward to implementing these seemingly simple steps.

I have over 15 boxes of papers. Important papers, memories on paper, etc. Definitely drowning in paper work. I love the Sunday basket idea! Thank you!

I used to have so much paper, too. But I've digitalized a lot of stuff like phone bills etc. I save them and send them to my tax person who prepares my business taxes.

I can relate to drowning in paperwork. !!! I used to work on it and then get so frustrated I would stop and then of course the pile would get bigger. Now I’m working on it again.

Love your organization style! I heard about the Sunday basket from the Minimal Mom's site, which is super, but I want to get rid of my filing cabinets. I love the binder idea. Thank you so much.

Thank you for this video. I am ready to change. I became overwhelmed with paperwork when I was working 2 jobs. Letters came in so fast I would put them in drawers, plastic bags and tote bags. I didn't want to deal with Now I am coming out my clutter funk. I use binders and I keep them mostly organized. But my incoming mail had gotten the best of me so I decided enough is enough and I am going to do something about it and I am coming out of "Clutter Hell."

Started the sunday basket but added the "Time will Tell" basket for catalogs, and other paper which might go away in a few months but need to have access to it without filing it or putting it in a binder.

Sunday is my rest day whether I go to church or not. But you have many good suggestions and I’m going to make a different day such as Saturday morning to file the papers. I have learned that morning is the best time to file or to do someof thinking kind of work because after about three or 4 PM my mind is turned out from decisions.

Thank you for a solution that acknowledges keeping some papers and not getting rid of everything or keeping everything in too many categories.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Yes, I used to have all these files and binders and it was just a constant mess because it was too complicated. For me, simplifying has made the biggest difference, not making it look pretty.

This video was helpful. I've been working toward a minimalist lifestyle for two years. It's a work in progress. Paper organization eludes me. I sit down to deal with it with good intentions, but it quickly becomes overwhelming. You've made me see that I'm complicating the process. I now feel this is something I can conquer more easily than I thought, and all with basic organization pieces I have on hand. Once it's done, I think I'll sleep better for the rest of my life:-) Thank you. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to make it way too complicated, too. When I started dumping everything in one basket and just had a few categories, it changed everything.

WoW! That seemed so simple. I am so very overwhelmed with my paperwork. I too own my own business and I am struggling to get it under control. I am way better than before but I see that I could be better. I think my hubby thinks that it's only my thing and that is why I think my desk looks like a bomb went off and the more I try to clear it the messier it looks. I too have binders and I just recently went through them tossing the older papers and making room for another year, it just doesn't seem complete yet... I need help!!

I'm drowning in paperwork, although I can find things i.e., fairly fast, but it really looks bad. i used to do paperwork when I worked, so the thought of doing this in retirement causes a lot of anxiety for me. If I could hire a secretary - I would do so, just to avoid it.

Feedback not criticism: when I’m looking for a video to fix an issue I already know the problem and how it affects me. u don’t need to waste time explaining that, that’s why we’re here lol u can skip right into the solution. I’m saying it so u can get more views and less people leaving right away like me 👍

Nice work! Do you use a hole puncher on all your papers in the binder or use plastic sleeves?
@HealthyMinimalistMom4 жыл бұрын
I only punch holes if I need to put them into a binder to keep. A lot of papers don't go into binders, such as announcements or infos from school.

@HealthyMinimalistMom4 жыл бұрын
I got the baskets at a German version of BigLots, very cheap. You can use the ones Curver has, they look very similar. The box is from IKEA. The clear envelopes I got at a local office shop. You can find them on Amazon when you search for "plastic file envelopes clear".

Love the binder idea! Have always been more on the file folder side of things but I find I don’t access them and there’s some useful stuff in there. I think with the binders I’ll actually open them up & reference more, thank you!🙏🏼😊❤️

I used to do files, but all it did was accumulate. I now only put in binders what I need to keep and have those slash pockets for things that I only need to keep for a short while, and keep those in my Sunday basket. Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a blessed day.

Can you explain what types of things can be considered for your tax returns? Like could I save stationary receipts and file them on my taxes? What category would that be in?
@HealthyMinimalistMom4 жыл бұрын
I'm self employed, so I keep every receipt and document that I will need to send to my CPR at the end of the year for taxes. That includes gas bills, website hosting, services I use, and anything else that can be claimed. Collecting EVERYTHING throughout the year has saved me a lot of tax money.

Where are the legal documents… like deeds, passports, all IDs renewal documemts, …. your living will and your spouses’ . I inherited and also bought properties and have to manage maintenace , property taxes , and so much regulatory stuff. I can tell there are more papers to come.

For documents that just need to be filed and kept and rarely accessed, I have a folder. I also own a house and have all the documentation in a separate folder. This system is really to help minimize the clutter that flows in every single day.
