@@naomi-and-the-sun hey congratulations ❤️ Can you please guide me a little, is CPA too hard? Is it possible to clear all the 4 sections in the first attempt?
@naomi-and-the-sun3 жыл бұрын
@@sona5495 Hey! No I wouldn't say it's too hard, and I think the statistic is about 10% of all candidates pass all 4 on the first try. I bet there are a lot of people who pass 3 on the first try and maybe have to take just one exam more than once, but as someone who has taken 6 exams already and only passed 2, I can assure you that it's not the worst thing in the world to have to take them again. In fact I'm actually grateful they allow it 😅 But anyways, I'm a pretty average person and learn slower than others, so don't let the number of times I have to take it discourage you since there are many people who complete the exams much faster than me! You just have to figure out the way you learn best and stick with it! Best of luck!!

BEC might be my last exam and combined with the burnout, some of the topics involving formulas are pretty intimidating. I keep finding myself getting overwhelmed with a lot of the lectures. I'm going to take your advice and use index cards because my previous tried and true methods for FAR, REG, and AUD are not working right now.
@naomi-and-the-sun3 жыл бұрын
I had to remind myself that they can’t test us over all the formulas, so you can google (at the risk of taking advice from internet strangers) the most highly tested ones that may appear on the exam and focus on those. I made formulas for most of the formulas with emphasis on those more important ones. But I know you’ve probably got a solid method down already if this is your last one so have faith in yourself too! 😊 Sometimes it’s good to switch things up though since I totally understand the whole burnout situation. You got this!

Hi Naomi, Thanks for making this video. I wish i had watched it earlier. Now with a little over 30 days left till the last day of the 2023 exam window and working full time job, is it worth it to take the risk and study for BEC? Honestly, I don't feel it's realistic but i'm not sure if i can risk it or not? Yes it will be great to check BEC off my list in 2023, but adding the stress element to meet this short deadline, i don't really know, any thoughts you can share?
@naomi-and-the-sun11 ай бұрын
Hey there! Thanks so much for watching! I would say that with that little time, you don’t need to feel pressure to take the exam before the next window. Do you have an exam that you’ve already passed that marks when your first credit expires? If not, definitely don’t worry about it. If you do, I would just make sure it makes sense to wait to take the next exam until you have more time to prepare and feel more ready. I hope this helps out, but please let me know if you need me to clarify any of the above. 👍

@naomi-and-the-sun3 жыл бұрын
I looked up on different forums which formulas to focus on the most and made flashcards for those since there were so many and then any others that I personally saw that kept appearing while studying. Most of them were from the financial section in BEC and others were mainly for cost accounting and econ. I think if you search for which ones are most common like I did it should make you feel less overwhelmed knowing that other people didn't feel the need to memorize them all! They can only test your knowledge with a limited number of questions, so you already know they won't all appear on any single exam, that would be the worst haha. I hope this points you in the right direction!

Seriously. I'm working through the MCQs for the Financial Management section of BEC and my heart fell through the floor when I saw the (absurd) amount of equations there are. It's total overkill. I'm just gonna focus on whatever pops up the most often in the MCQ and cross my fingers.

Hey there! I’m so sorry I missed this comment - I’ve been off YT for about a year so if you don’t need this question answered, maybe it will help someone else! I hope you’re CPA journey has moved along! From what I remember, I would schedule for my exams about halfway through my studies of the material. If I was able to score on sets of MCQ’s in the 70’s or above, then I would leave my test date as it was originally scheduled. But if I wasn’t getting good scores on my sample tests or sets of questions, then I would try and move the date to maybe 2 weeks later and really crack down on studying and getting better proficiency in my weak areas especially. Hope this helps, and best of luck!

@naomi-and-the-sun3 жыл бұрын
I went ahead and read the module after listening to the lecture. I have trouble following the lectures so slowly going through and reading the book afterward really helped clarify things. Also, try not to get caught up in all the details too much. Some items I have to remind myself that there's only x hours or x multiple choice that they have available to test us over, so sometimes you just have to get the bigger picture and then move on. It will come together more during your review - hope this helps and best of luck to you!

It seems impossible, but you will be able to remember a lot of them in the final review stage. I would google some forums like maybe the CPA subreddit or another71 where people emphasize which formulas to remember that Becker hints may be tested frequently to give yourself the best shot and not worry about the minutiae. They can't possibly test us on everything they present in Becker so you just have to narrow it down and will feel much better about it then. We got this! :)

During the review did you just hammer through the mcqs? Thanks!
@naomi-and-the-sun3 жыл бұрын
I took 1-2 days for each chapter in my studying phase which was just reading the module when I had time, watching the lecture and then doing multiple choice. No skills practice or sims. Once I did that for all chapters my review was just spending 1 day per chapter re-doing all (or most) multiple choice in a single chapter. This was all while I was studying full time though, so I don't have experience yet learning any material while working full-time. I think aiming for at least 1-2 modules a day if you are working FT seems reasonable though. I probably couldn't do 3 a day while working because I'm kind of a slow learner in my opinion. But for review yes I mainly did more multiple choice in sets of 20 for as many rounds as I could do in a single day which usually ended up being 100-200 questions a day and looked over flash cards. If you're using Becker, you really want to make sure you understand and memorize the COSO ERM mnemonics. I hope this helps and good luck with audit!!

Hello! Did you pass audit yet? My BEC exam is in 2 days, just found out I failed FAR with a 73 and Audit with a 73. I feel the least prepared with BEC 😭
@naomi-and-the-sun3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I need to make a video about it but yes I finally did BUT it took me 4 tries... Idk something about audit is super tricky!! I found out I failed audit also the day before my Bec exam but still miraculously passed Bec the first try so don't let that deter you! Take Bec with a calm mind and then get right back to audit if possible since they are making some changes to the exam this summer (I think July but not 100% sure). Were you using Becker? I tried with Becker again my second try, then Becker + Ninja my third, but when I got the same score twice in a row I finally decided enough is enough and had to completely switch review programs. I made the switch over to Surgent CPA Review specifically for audit since Becker just wasn't getting me there and I was finally able to get over the hump with a 77. I would say in your case since you were so close, try hitting on your weak areas with whatever review program you're using while reviewing the other main areas at the same time. You are a couple points closer than where I was at when I failed, so I think maybe you won't have to switch review programs. Failing a third time made me realize that something needed to change which is why I made the switch but overall I'm just trying to say everyone is different and it's possible you just got a bad exam with your weak areas!

I'll definitely watch your video on it when it comes out lol. I'm scheduled to take audit on June 26 so hopefully I pass it. It seems like I'm very weak on sims on every exam and BEC's written section helped me out a lot. I'm hammering through all the mcqs on audit right now but I'll definitely reread chapters 3 and 4 and do the sims. I was thinking of supplementing Becker with another material but I feel like I'll be overwhelmed going back and forth between the 2 study programs but I might do it for my FAR retake on Aug. 14. Which section are you working on now?

@naomi-and-the-sun3 жыл бұрын
@@bezaye8884 I have the same problem - even worse when I first started studying. You have to put your phone away, close out of youtube and any other distracting websites and set a goal for each day. I felt pressured to get the work done each day as I set a deadline for myself on when I was planning on taking the exam. That could be like 1 chapter a week, 2 chapters a week, whatever you think you have time for. Do you focus better with music? I think the most important thing is having one spot that you consider your "study spot." I have a desk in my room that I go to, and when I'm there my brain switches to study mode. Set up a routine - I always brew a cup of tea when I sit down to study so that it almost helps signal the beginning of my studies each day. You don't have to do tea, but do something to mark the beginning of your routine so that your brain associates it with a good study session. As for anxiety, make sure you're getting enough sleep. I try to do yoga or meditate on days that I am feeling especially anxious/stressed. I even had panic attacks in the middle of my exam. To fix this, I had to close my eyes and take some deep breaths during my exam, reminding myself that I just have to do my best and that the worst case is a fail. What's so bad about that when you can just take the exam again? Let me know if you need any other advice since I know this is a difficult process - it certainly is for me!
