I used 3 days to write IELTS academic (computer based) and got overall band 7 with 6.5 being my least. My advice to people is to pay and book for the test in advance depending on the time you can prepare write the test. Once you pay, British Council sends you a separate mail of "GELPREP" to assist you in preparing for the test. The GELPPREP is the most effective learning material you can get so far as preparing for ielts academic is concerned. You may take classes and combine with GELPREP and for just 2 months, you can get band 9. NB: The most difficult model in ielts is reading so I will advice anyone to practice reading more on the GELPREP which comes with a timer just as the actual exams. ✌
