The video provides tools, tips and content on how I studied for my CompTIA Network+ N10-007 certification exam. Overall set a plan and write them down. Ask yourself three questions. What are your goals, where do you want to be and how you want to achieve them? Hopefully the tools below can help but they did help me during my studies.

Hello and thank you. I thought of going for the CCNA. Personally I want to get that certification but wasn't ready for it and want to build my cert path. I would like to still get the CCNA but thinking to go for my Security+ before that. The reason is if I ever wanted to renew my Sec+ it should auto renew my Net+. I could be wrong but I am also interested in IT Security. In all it doesn't hurt to get my security plus and a manager in infosec told me to go for it. Go for what keeps you engaged and continue learning. Don't stop there.

Cheers, Jon. Although I'm late to congratulate, congratulations on passing the exam. I am a student at one of the universities in Puerto Rico, studying to be IT. I will graduate from my Bachelor's degree in 2022. This summer I'm studying for the network + so I can quickly land a job in IT when I graduate, probably if I don't feel ready to take the exam before finishing this summer I could wait for the next version, since supposedly this version retires in August. Wish me good luck!

I studied most days. Some nights I studied after kids were in bed for about 3-4 hours. Some days I didn't study to give myself a break. If I did I just made up my time on the weekend. That is when I really kicked it up. I would study for at least 4 -5 hours. During that time I would concentrate on one thing only. Read the chapter. Revisit what I didn't understand and test myself. If I did poorly I would evaluate my weakness and cocnerntrate on that subject. In all don't be hard on yourself if things are not perfect and if you miss a day of studying. Make some goals, buy the exam voucher and schedule your exam. Once I scheduled it that helped keep me accountable. Knowing that there was a true deadline in writing really helped a lot. Good luck and don't stop learning.

Hi. Overall I’d say a few months. The week or two before the exam I took 1 full day work day (8 hours) to study. The week of the exam I took two days to prepare. The closer I got to the exam I did lots of flash cards and practice exams. Day before I did a practice exam and reviewed some topics but then just relaxed home and watched stand up comedy to help keep me relaxed.

Hi, I haven’t really applied to any jobs outside of my company because I love where I work. Once I got the certification I saw an internal job posted for a network technician position. I applied and reached out to the manager and got a response that they received my application and resume. I checked back and the job posting hasn’t closed yet. Truth is most companies prefer someone with experience configuring and installing routers and switches and/or to have a Cisco certification. I am working to study for my Cisco can certification.

I think since it was my first certification that is a reason why it was hard. To learn about networking in general for me was a challenge vs the A+ or Sec+, although I didn't take those exams. I think it was hard because on how the questions are asked. They give good scenarios and one has to figure out what the issue or resolution. Hope this helps.

@infotechyeti
@infotechyeti 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Duane, it took me about 4 months. In the beginning I was not as consistent with my studies but having life responsibilities and married with two kids was the challenge. Once I scheduled the exam that really helped keep me accountable. I didn't schedule it till about 2 months later after I purchased the exam voucher. Also I didn't want to go into the holiday season studying for an exam. I would say 4 months is a good starting point and if you need more that's okay but I personally wouldn't take 6 months to study for it. Right now I'm working towards my Cisco CCNA certification. Good luck and don't stop learning.

@infotechyeti
@infotechyeti 2 жыл бұрын
Hello hitootoko, I am sorry to read that you still failed. I can imagine the feeling failing a 3rd time. I think there be could some reasons of failing the exam the 2nd and 3rd time. Test taking skills is a possibility and being able to pass the performance based questions could be another. I know using a practice exam was essential to me working on my time management skills during the test and being able to better understand how things work versus memorizing answers. I am not sure if this would help but I spoke to someone at work when I passed my exam who stated out of a class of 40 only a few were able to pass when he took the exam. It is not an easy exam. I hope this helps but at the end remember you still learned a new skill and although you did not pass it will still show the hiring manager and company that you are persistent and willing to continue on to further your career and knowledge in IT. Good luck and remember, getting the certification is not the goal but its a journey. It should not stop there.
