Hi!!! Mommy of two boys here- homeschooling my oldest for the second year, but last year was more relaxed. I say I'm in the middle 😆 I need and love organzation, but get distracted too fast with some other task. Been doing To Do lists for the diffrent areas and is working wonderful! Same as having a place for everything and everything in his place. This SAHM / military wife needs all the tips I can get. ❤

I am a pretty organized person and thrive when I am able to organize each area of my life, even the not so easy baby/toddler needs, it's just so much more smoothe over all when I am able to put a little effort into organizing. As we speak I am about to schedule our meals on a calendar for a week, just so everyone knows what's going on and I can better tackle that as well. I'm also a SAH homeschooling momma, of 3. So any organization really helps.

Love organization. I could do it in my sleep. Chaos makes me crazy. I like undated planers. I fill in each lesson then I put a date in when we do it. Easy! No missing a day, no white out, just a great plan.

I LOVE how you mentioned you break things up by quarter! I've been homeschooling a long time and while I dont ever pre-schedule anything out for the year (because like you said, things change), I've been needing to be slightly more structured as my kids get older, otherwise we just dont get through what we plan for at the beginning of the year. Definitely going to try to do it by quarter this year. We also only school 4 days a week! I do consider myself a pretty organized person and find that if I can prepare and organize well before the school year starts, it runs better for everyone. I also work from home, so I need to be more organized. Working on it all now before our homeschool starts in september :)

I love your idea of having a general idea of working on certain subjects on certain days and just writing down what you actually accomplished... and not feeling like you "failed" when you don't do everything! I have been using a checklist and constantly am moving around assignments on my weekly chart- this will help me (I hope).

Hey Ang. I am kind of half and half. I am super organized with my cupboards and drawers, I love planners and planning sheets, white board lists are my Jam. When it comes to my laundry routine(🤦‍♀️👎🏻). I for sure have a “laundry couch” and struggle with keeping my kiddos rooms clean and their things organized. Gotta love the Mom life😉.

I am a bit of both! I thrive on organization and love to organize things wherever I am (school, work, home, etc). However, I can neglect to tidy things up when I am busy. But this “messy” side of me does not occlude the organization! For instance, you can have a clean room that is disorganized (things stowed away randomly with no system or order) and a messy room that is organized (some clothes need to be picked up, but once they are they will be folded neatly into categorized drawers/bins)

Although I only have 1 child almost 5 year old daughter and I don't home school my child or nor plan on doing it I still get a lot of tips of organization from you. I am trying to get better organized(I am all over the place most of the time) specially with my child starting pre school this year and next year she goes to kinder and I want to have a good organization structure and resource books as well for her. Ur sweater is lovely with your hair. I have stopped chemical dying mine, I think I'm almost to my 3 year anniversary. I use henna now occasionally, especially in spring and fall. I have not rocked my natural Auburn/red without chemicals since I was in middle school.

For you “descents” unit - Romeo Dallaire would be a great figure to look at from recent history (1990s). He was a in charge of a UN peacekeeping mission during the Rwandan Genocide and stayed with his team after all other countries pulled out their peacekeepers/troops. The subject is obviously very dark but I’m sure if you read up on it yourself first he would be a great person to research for the older girls.

I love this question because I am super unorganized lol. I love love love to plan and make lists and buy all the planners and pretty papers in the world. Buuuut then when it comes time to actually do it, it's so hard lol. I'm not even sure why but I have kind of always been unorganized and I guess I've unfortunately passed it on to my kids. My husband is probably the most organized out if all of us. We are all artists too so we definitely have a huge collection of our supplies. I love crafts and papers, my husband is a fine pencil arts and tattoos as well. My oldest daughter loves to upcycle anything and my middle daughter loves to experiment with slime etc. I have yet to see what my baby will be like as he's just 4 1/2 months

I have all of the best intentions to get organized. I buy all of the things (planners, highlighters, apps, etc) and go into it with 100% and then a few months in I start writing things down on random pieces of paper and setting lots of alarms and alerts. Kind of a beautiful chaos situation by the end.

I teach first grade and I love labeling and organizing my boxes and containers at school. Everything has a label and everything has a place. It makes things so much easier for my students. My craft room at in own home however...could use a lot more organizing! :)
