On my shamman box i have a debuff hotkey that casts both single target malo/slow and the ae malo/slow it procs the dot on the slow and the ae malo is instant. So my slow isnt delayed any, and the range is from the target and relatively short so no real concern for adds.

Twincast rk3 takes a min off the recast, very worth the time it takes to get.

I have been saying all along that maximising dmg output on a mage even for a player like me that have played and play a mage isn't easy. I find the AA system and all the commands and macros you have to write as something you shouldn't need to learn to play your mage effectively with synergies. I guess some people like it, I for sure don't and I have a IT background and if I wanted to work while playing a game where I have to first multibind spells, combined with commands for AA's and then it already takes a way my focus on learning my class. It is mind boggling that they havent even fixed this and the UI in general to make the game much more player friendly, what about just stop the F up and use resources to do that instead of more content? Because they need to keep it alive if/until EQ3 is released, but I can wait a year for them to make a improved UI and make the AA'S more "Grafical". Maybe, just maybe they would attract much more players to the game and earn more money than yet another expansion. My god I can't wait for everquest 3 to be released, hopefully they will make AA skills or just rename them and make some kind of skill trees like Wow. I admit that Wow killed Everquest by learning how not do a extremely poor job on the UI, how skills are used that are the hot mess AA's is. Don't get me wrong I love Everquest, but I don't love the UI and how the AA skills are used with Macros and all that crap you have to write, and then you need to even put them together in synergy which adds another level of complexity. No wonder EQ don't attract a lot of new player's, if they don't get out a EQ3 in about 5 years or so, there will come a game that will make Everquest a 👻 town. When it comes to to Teek it's the same shit, people are jumping over each other to be the first to sell you shit that is easy to get, just wait until PoP, Ugh. If I wanted to play the old game and where most good quests haven't been nerfed, I would do P99 or Project Quarm. I played the old everquest from open beta to 2005, omens of war, but quit because of the immense grind that Gates of Discord where back then. If you have no life, I would probably go Teek, but who has the time anymore for not having a life outside the game? They have understood that freetrade sells them Kronos and makes them money, I really don't see any passion about the game from Daybreak/Darkpaw. Their Fippy fest prices shows how disconnected even the people that actually makes the game are. They think that they are gods in the MMO genre and are delusional about where this game is now and what it used to be. Sorry for the rant lol 😂, I am just so tired of a game, where you shouldn't need to know macros and commands to play the game, it is like torture for me, fix it Darkpaw, it's so outdated, it reminds me of Windows now and Linux, modern games have the windows UI/skills etc and Everquest is Linux or the first version of Windows with commands 😂🎉. The age is showing and even for a veteran of EQ it's getting tireing and old to do so. Sorry again, the video is helpful for those that have played EQ and knows how to do all the commands and I learned a few things so thank you for the mage tutorial at 125. Sorry for the delay. I find mage to be a hard class to optimize. SUre you can /pet attack and nuke and your done and I bet that works for TLP till 65+ On life there is so much shit AAs + summon clickies for more dps that I dont even use. My mage is my top performer without a doubt beats my necro 100% of the time when I box them. Yeah it sucks to have to pretty much macro the shit out of everything and cheese the key binds to optimize everything. There is a ton of optimization / "we love the players" passes day break could do to everything in this game but at that point its prob just going to go into Everquest 3. @@hammackj I am just grateful for a reply 🙂👍. You see people able to implement the Unreal engine that has now so much resources that do amazing things being one person. Daybreaks latest answer about EQ3: "We are throwing ideas to the wall to see what stick, like spaghetti". Quote from the lead developer at Daybreak Games🤣, that instill confidence in what if EQ3 will be ever made with the current owners. They have a budget of 30M $, which probably is a third of what they need to make it good, I am not sure they have people who are proficient using Unreal engine or anything to make a great zone less EQ3. But we both love EQ or else I think we would not be so passionate about it, I hope they implement AI into EQ3, that can make the game a much needed revolution to the whole MMO genre, like EQ was back in the days. I don't think the current owners are that type of people that takes risks, but I would take a Unreal, zone less, new UI, Skills and something new that makes all that better in a EQ3 game. I agree with you that I think soon EQ 2 that has even less players will probably be shut down and on EQ3 we will get this lazy quests and raids (maybe a lvl bump. I think that there will be from 3 to 5 more "expansions" that for a somewhat competent guild is easy, and you go straight to the boss fights and usually kills it in a few hours and they lock you out for a week. For me the last really great expansion was House of Thule, more classic dungeon crawl. Ugh I am ranting again lol 😂, I do the standard things with my Mage at lvl125, hit one button to chain cast spells, pet attack, swarm attack. When I asked Mages they said do this and you are 80 % better than most mages, but what I wanted to was to get more help with the AA's and how to optimise it, thanks for putting the video out here, it helps a little but it's work lol to just get that somewhat right. Add that with everything else you need to know to play EQ, it's fine that it takes time to master a game, but not years and decades, that's just insanity. Problem with EQ is that they have code from 99 up today, that's a lot of spaghetti code and it you change something, tons of bugs pop up. Oh well let's both hope that EQ3 will be out in 5 years, when they have something to show, concept art, whatever, then we can be sure this company will be the one that actually makes it. Ok let's "enjoy" playing EQ hehe, take care.

I box 4 mages and an enchanter. I use 2 air pets and 2 water pets. I seldom ever die. My air pet can tank anything in the group game without a problem. Like you, I use ISboxer

Merc healer? What level? Do you do the group missions?

Do you play from the enchanter? Sounds like a fun group. Do you have to heal at all with the mages?

@@hammackj I play from my main mage. As for healing, once in a while I'll heal my pet. The merc healer usually does a good enough job to keep the pets alive. The merc healer is more useful for healing my team, not the pets. I made the enchanter this last December, I love the auras and the slow. AE slow is nice if I get a bunch of mobs. I seldom use mez because I really don't need it. Yes, it's a fun group, I have a blast playing it.

im a total noob and just downloaded everquest for the first time, got to level 3 on a bard in faralina vie, was wondering if this is the right server for a new player to play in, or if im making a huge mistake and should join p99 or a PTL server, awesome videos, very hard game to learn as a noob XD

i try typing to other players to ask questions about the game and how to play, but i dont speak there language cause im a high elf XD and i havent learned the language of the orcs and elves and humans etc. so i cant even type to other people to ask for help at all... not shure if this is how people played back in the day, i wish i could type to people but i cant find any of the language trainers

im playing totally solo with a mercenary by the way, i dont understand how to multibox, if i dont multibox can i even play this game as a new player or is it impossible to get into in its current state

FV is great I play there. You might have a better experience on Teek the new TLP, live servers it might be harder to get groups. You can right click the chat box and change the language to elvish which everyone talks.

It’s not impossible but Teek might be a better experience if you are brand new. As there are tons of people grouping and no language issues.
