Brilliant Stef, really well done! How difficult would it be to add a button that played (once per press) the required scale/riff/arpeggio. I'm thinking that if I didn't refer to any theory/exercise book or app that my only option would be to listen and learn. I'm 65 years old and have been able to read music since I was a child but I've never resorted to memorising anything, let alone scales/exercises. I am able to improvise jazz to a professional level in my head but need to overcome my disability to play from memory and respond in an instant to what is in my head. If I dispense with any written or app reference then I am forced to listen and learn, committing to memory from the outset. That button would be an massive help! Thanks for a very interesting few minutes.

Thank you! Unfortunately, such a button would be very difficult to add to an app like this. Certainly way beyond my abilities as a programmer! Reason being, this app is designed to allow the user to input their own exercises... and there are an infinite number of musical exercises that someone could type in their list! However, if there were a set list that the user could choose from, then such a thing would be pretty easy! The challenge there is choosing the exercises that would the most useful to the biggest number of users. Anyway, thanks for your comment! I'll keep this in mind for any updates to Practice Pal, or any similar devices!
