Just pulled our 5 almost 6 year old from public school and recieved all of my ABEKA accredited K5 a few days ago. I am feeling so overwhelmed, but I know I can do this. I set up an 8 week system, because I don’t want to get ahead of myself. The dvd teacher material is a bit much for me so far. I got a lesson planner on the side and I’m trying to figure out the best lesson planner method. I am almost 50 years old and basically winging this. We played around a little this evening, and opening with the pledge and Jesus loves me song has given me more faith that I can do this, for HIM! Prayers would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to let him down. I heard a quote “you’re worst day at homeschool is better than your best day of public school”……. Excited and scared at the same time. Enjoyed your video. Hope your daughters have a great year.

I loved Abeka for our girls! I did switch to Saxon math about 5th grade. It is very buildable for them as they learn different skills. Because we moved around with our work I always found a group that did standardized test groups for my accountability as well. And it included BIBLE texting. I even made a very good friend that was a speech pathologist. She helped me with my youngest speech. N ow one is a lawyer and other daughter a National Park Ranger.

This brings back memories. I had four kids andI home schooled them all. You are super organized so that helps immensely. I eventually made up their syllabi and just had the school system check them over. They always said my curriculums were tougher than the school system. The kids were always in the 90% or higher with their test scores. Bravo, Sarah.

Hi Sarah ... Before seeing this I thought you were incredible. After seeing this, you far exceed the limits of incredible. All of the things you do with taking care of the house, planning and packing for trips and adventures, taking care of your incredible husband, and all that you do for family, friends, and neighbors, it is amazing that you have any time left for understanding and doing everything that's needed to provide Aria and Emma an excellent education. Love the Bible study being included in this process. You are an amazing woman, mom, wife, and friend. If you are interested, I have written three children's books, not published, for family and friends. I would be happy to send you copies I have on my computer if you were interested in reading them. I think the kids would like them, but that is entirely your choice of course. Please say hi to Aria, Emma, and Rob for me. All the best from me in Alaska.

Abeka Curriculum's the best. I run a Private Christian Elementary and a boarding High School here in Palau and as the principal, i couldn't be any more happier and blessed that our schools been using Abeka many many years ago. Our children need to be taught academic in a Christian's views. The world is not a safe place to allow our kids consume secular materials and ideologies. It's best they are prepared to face the world with God's words, then they can see it differently and meaningful. Only God's words can help our children cope and live in moral life.

I work for UPS and I see so many damaged material for the students because it's not packed correctly. I'm not saying anything bad about the curriculum. incredible organization. I am like you, but my wife has her own "unique" way of organizing things...opposite of me...as in just throwing all of the mail, etc into a huge pile on our island in the kitchen, then once in a while moving them to a box in the garage. I can never find anything, but when I ask she somehow knows exactly where it is. "Hey babe, where are my Charles Schwab 1099s? ...I can't find them." Five minutes later and rummaging through three boxes in the garage she finds them. lol

✌️no hating here, but as cool at this looks, in the end , your kinda like a full-time teacher to get the program knowledge and teach.. the girls have less time learning than going to school. Seams like a lot of work from your part. Is it possible to do that if you are working full time? I'm just curious. I know this will be better for your girls! Seams like a lot of work. No short cuts here. I'm glad you can do that! ✌️👌👍♥️🇨🇦

No, they are getting an education far superior to the public indoctrination camps. Lots of time spent in 'school' is pure nonsense. The Arrington girls will be much further ahead of their public schooled peers, as they are being highly educated in life / outdoor skills.

we started ,my oldest daughter with abeka, unfortunately her dad was not a good school teacher, later our church gathered all of the children being homeschooled under a group of the women who were able to make it happen then even further on a licensed teacher joined our church and built a comprehensive curriculum that we still use in our accredited church school to this day it always bothers me that the public schools are not teaching cursive any more, our founding documents are all in cursive thank god Abeka and other faith based home school programs still teach the important skills

Where are you and Robert are free to raise your kids how you want. I strongly disagree with the isolationist style of education. God and politics should have no place in a school. I mean what would you and Rob do if your kids one day developed a mind of their own and decided they didn't want to be Christian nationalists? Not everybody wants to be an extremist

@DeerMom I agree, everybody's differences make them unique. It's just homeschooling deprives the kids of the opportunity to learn about the world and make friends they wouldn't normally see in everyday life. However everybody's story is different, and I'm glad that you agree with that. Just think in my opinion religion and politics should stay out of a kid's education because they are just kids they are innocent. No need to beat them over the head with Adult World drama, they still have many years to get into that and they may not even want to at that
@DeerMom4 ай бұрын
@@MrX965785055 appreciate the civil conversation! My thought is that they get to not only learn about the world, but experience it first hand and meet people of different cultures, backgrounds and ways of life. Some things they see while traveling, they would never learn properly in a classroom. We are fortunate to live by kids their age who they get to have good connections with, but they also have friends all over the world! It’s a total win/win for our lifestyle 😊

@DeerMom honestly I like your maturity, philosophically I know we don't see eye-to-eye. However it's good to see that despite all the animal killing on yours and Robert's videos, that there is humanity and compassion. You definitely scored big points with me when you didn't want to kill that female in your last video because it could have been a mom. I have never fished or hunted in my life but I've always wanted to, and I know if I took to hunting I would only go for males only. Because I don't like the idea of orphaning babies no matter if they're an invasive species or not
