Listened to this while driving to the range to do my own prep for a match in two weeks. Thanks for this.

Morgan King is in Texas now and I was on the squad next to him couple matches ago. Watching him was wild. Joking around and having a blast while just killing it.

Target vs Reticle: As a competitive enthusiast (dont want to call myself a competitor, since my effort and training doesnt reflect that) I realize that I watch the target too much, vs the reticle. I reflect on matches/stages and notice that my initial wind call or corrections are more “spatial” than scaled measurements, even though the scope has a built-in measuring device, being the reticle. I suspect that developing a level of comfort to measure on the clock, especially from the first shot, hit or miss, will unlock a major improvement as a shooter. So I wholly agree that with precision optics, the focus should be on the reticle, over the target. Also: Regarding powder and humidity, go to a guitar/music store and buy a guitar humidifier device. They are refillable and rechargeable. Store your powder containers in a larger airtight container with one of the humidifiers in there. I have the opposite issue in the southeast where the humidity in my house is usually 70+%, so I just run a dehumidifier near my bench, set to maintain at 55% and try to always load between 55-60%. Just what works for me.

I keep all of my primers and powder stored in coolers.... If I had a space I could climb a control I would do that..... But for now coolers work really good

I’ve been shooting 110 a tips for 2 years. Shot them in 3 different barrels. They all started tightening up after 40 though jump. I usually jump between 60-100. You have same results?

So around the 5:00 mark, you're saying that having too many cartridge choices was causing you problems? If the top 20 shooters are all within a few shots of each other, then the rules of the game need to change. Right now, guys are gaming it with 30lb 6BR type guns with a nice brake, and have zero recoil. Change it where there's a few limits to what guys can get away with. 15lbs maximum Minimum required power factor Minimum bore diameter No brakes allowed The way it's going, guys will show up within the next 3 years with 50lb .17 caliber guns with big ol nasty brakes. That's not competition. That's cheating
