I even tried to use notion's chrome app to save web idea and sync notion data to obsidian(but it's even more complicated and API is too hard for me😅😅) It's really solve my biggest friction of obsidian ~ Thx again!!! 🎉🎉💞💞

Hey! I'm using the app and I'm totally in love with it, it's everything that's missing from Obsidian, a quick and reliable capture. I was looking for the "metadata" that fleeting notes passes to obsidian like ${id} ${created_date} ecc, but I didn't find anything anywhere. Do you have even a simple list of those "metadata"?

I think if you go into fleeting notes plugin settings in obsidian, the default template used when creating a new obsidian note from your fleeting notes should have all the variables

Thank you for the work Matthew and you put into the app, as well as the transparency of the data you store. I was wondering what license you have on your plugin. For the purposes of personal security, I'm thinking of reverse engineering your plugin in order to point the configuration to my own Firebase configuration. It will also save you on your cost because I am a data hog. I can also put in a PR documenting this if you choose to make this option available for others.

Any reason why you decide to use ':' for your thought notes, but '::' for your seedling note?

no, it should all be :: so it becomes metadata of the note

The Fleeting notes creation is not the same as on my iPhone, is there a setting to correct that?

what do you mean by not the same? can you elaborate?

@@itsjohnmavrick example: when I creat the note at 3:30pm , the fleeting note show the note creating at 2:00am. It seems only happened on the date that I reported this issue. It’s working ok now

Hey thank you for the video, will definitely give fleeting notes a try. I notices you use the formatting "Tags::" instead of a YAML header, any reason to that ? Would that mess up metadata in plugins like Database folder ?

I haven't used the database folder plugin, but it still works with dataview and is still considered YAML by many apps. I prefer it because for the most part, metadata is hidden but I think such information should also be a visible part of the note. It's also just a habit I kept from seeing how people like Bryan Jenks and Nick Milo prefixed their note templates ;)

I'm concerned about privacy, wouldn't these fleeting notes be stored on some server? Able to sync fleeting notes directly from mobile to Obsidian on Desktop?

Notes are currently being stored on a firebase server which is hosted by Google and only accessible to me and Matthew, the other co-founder. But yes, technically we do have access to your notes but they are associated with a random id linked to your account. If you take your notes on the phone and then run the command on mobile then they should sync :) You might have to do a force sync on mobile first though in the settings.

if you're on your phone it might be hard to do so if you dont have a sync plan or if your vault is big and takes a long time to load on mobile
