I love looking back at the player mentality in Dayz. There has been many YT channel's who have done physiological studies on this but simplistically it's fascinating. Staring in original Dayz Arma 2, it felt like 80-90% of the player base was friendly and "heroic" due to the humanity system. Then over the following years you had mod and mod, game after game come out and slowly start turning the players into shoot on sight and a blood thirsty player base. It's sad that we don't get the interactions we used to back in the day. Very few people talk to each other, even in traders when they are in a server. And the only way you can get that fun dialogue on a regular bases with other players is if you join an RP server or play with a bunch of friends. I know the humanity system may not have been the most realistic aspect of the Dayz experience, but man the player base changed a lot without it over the years. Obviously it's not that simple, that one thing didn't change the whole community but it feels like it was the first crack in the damn or the first domino to fall.

Me and this guy were trying to kill each other but couldn't since we both suck at pvp, so we talked it out, and I asked if he had a knife for my can food which he gave me soon after we slit I went to a town he went on the highway, I wanted to repay him so I found 2 guns with ammo, I track him down and game him the gun. We both died together trying to fight another player

So much fun to see your video's, i'm a gamer myself but because of a medical condition mt hand, brain coordination is not working fast enough. So i tried DayZ several times but can't get anywhere because i always shoot a few seconds to late. So PvP is out of the question and i loved to play these back in the day. I now play games that not need to "quick at hand" so to speak. But your video's are like your there with you guys, thx for this great content.

There are PVE dayz servers if you like the concept of the game and not necessarily the pvp side of things. Get a lot of people that like to just roam around and do random stuff together on those servers

Day Z is a really paranoid game. I never trust people. When playing a game like Project Zomboid there's this feeling of mutual purpose, people are often fairly quick to give you food, guns, weapons or even old cars. In Day Z you shoot anything that moves. I also feel like huge population difference makes the struggle for survival in PZ drive the community together more (about five times as much on a similarly sized map). Nice to see a video where not everyone got shot instantly.

Me and my friends randomly found ourselves in the middle of 2 sanctuaries in an official server. I had met the leader recruiting when I spawned but I figured he’d be killed, but no he recruited many people and so did another sanctuary. Me and my friends ended up running things back in forth for them. Fun times

You need satellite mini-bases populated by other players to act as LP/OPs (Listening Posts/Observation Posts) against raiders. They could stash some of their loot there, while being able to fall back to the Sanctuary for secondary defense or other services.
