I agree, these videos are very well thought out, and teach the material at a good pace. You can tell that you have put a ton of effort into the details, even with the font in italics for 'softer' and bold for 'louder'. Great series of videos! I'm currently using the mackie 1620i in my studio and i'm wishing i upgraded to the 1640 for all those extra channels! Cheers

Great videos Nick!! These have been very helpful to me as I am just starting out recording at home. Most people don't take the time to go into the basics like you have here. thanks again man and keep it up!

Yes you can. The computer will then act as a playing machine in this case, and you can use the board to mix it if you want and record the results out of the main left/right outputs. The options are endless, it's all about understanding signal flow.

Yes, and I don't think that's a good idea unless you want to have that EQ forever. On live recordings to produce a CD on the spot that can be a good thing to use, but since I mix later, I always record everything flat.

@lopc5105 Thanks, we'll see if the views go up... it's a somewhat new series of videos for a very specific audience, but I appreciate the comment!

Please help me! I'm going to start working with microphones. What do I need and how does it work? You are very 'mastered' in this subject, so that's why I thoguht I should ask you :) Could you simply explain me how it works with the mics --> to the mixer --> to the audio interface --> to the computer ? Which cables do I need (a lot I guess) but I seriously am confused.. Could you please help me? Thank you so much in advance.

Btw, I'm going to use a standard set of 1x kick, 1x snare, 4x tom , 2x overhead. I was thinking of using a Berhinger 8x mic mixer, but what do I need for the audio interface? And which cables from mics - mixer - interface - cpu
